to wish I was prone to earwax build-up...

...so that I could have the satisfaction of having my ears syringed/using olive oil/ear drops - and then have everything sounding suddenly louder and get to see the gunk I had accumulated. Basically I fantasise about earwax. Am I an irredeemable pervert?

God it sounds fabulous. Do your ears need to be clogged to do it or can you just syringe 'for fun'. It's worth seeing if anything will come out, right? Right??!!Wink

Tell me more....

lessonsintightropes · 30/03/2014 03:01

Just go on YouTube and search earwax. You don't have to thank me! The Indian clinic videos are the best.

joanofarchitrave · 30/03/2014 03:02

Yes, I think I've seen most of them. But hey, there might be a new one since last time [fades out]

My sister bought me special tiny ear scrapers from Thailand. She knows me well.

I am sure they are not in any way a good idea but I don't care but they are superb for having a scratch around better than hair grips or lids off biro pens

Wuxiapian · 30/03/2014 08:53

Yanbu.

You are not a pervert.

I'm hugely satisfied with ears and degunking...

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 30/03/2014 09:13

William, get your own syringer off amazon and you can syringe away to your hearts content. They recommend 3 times a week on the box, to keep your ears clean, dreamy!

Daddypigsgusset · 30/03/2014 09:16

Im another ear wax perv!

Mine were so bad recently that syringing wasn't working so i had to have them hoovered. Best £60 I have ever spent. My eyeballs were backwards in my head and I had a weird grin on my face. The nurse must've thought I was a loon. The clump she got out with her hoover was over an inch long and jet Black. She was very impressed!

FieryChipotle · 30/03/2014 09:42

I've never had earwax, and I find it incredibly disappointing! I'm so glad I'm not alone with my obsession... I live in a house of waxy children so at least I get to deal with theirs!

KurriKurri · 30/03/2014 11:47

Do look on youtube under 'earwax removal', then you can enjoy the ear wax experience vicariously - 'a friend' told me there are some excellent clips on there ('my friend' especially recommends 'impacted wax turns out to be long lost treasure')

FreudiansSlipper · 30/03/2014 11:50

yanbu

it is something i dream of too

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/03/2014 12:47

IDoAll - is it good for your ears to be washed out, with the pressure of syringing, three times a week? Ear wax has a purpose - it is supposed to be there - according to Wikipedia it protects the skin of the human ear canal, assists in cleaning and lubrication, and also provides some protection from bacteria, fungi, insects and water - so surely washing it out so often would leave your ear unprotected against all those things?

Plus, if you don't know what you are doing, with your ear syringing set, you could damage or even perforate your eardrum - and when I was a Theatre nurse, I used to assist one of our ENT surgeons doing ear drum repairs, and it is serious surgery that you really don't want to have, if you can avoid it, I promise you!!

Seriously people - please don't fuck around with your ears. If you have impacted earwax, let a professional syringe it out. Don't stick cotton buds in there, don't do home syringing - your inner ear is a bloody delicate organ, and your hearing is such an important sense, why would you risk damaging it?

Sorry - that has turned into a bit of a rant.

JessieMcJessie · 30/03/2014 16:24

Oh God that sounds amazing. How do you know you've got wax build up- is it really obvious when the doctor or nurse looks in your ear? Cos am thinking maybe I just don't know how much I should be hearing and there could be a whole load in there? I do have quite waxy ears -TMI but earphones always end up with sticky wax on them. I have a waggle with a cotton bud now and again but. am realky careful not to go too far in and there's never an excessive amount. Could there be all manner of goodies lurking inside?

Hi, my ear was completely blocked with Wax and I was deaf as a post in that ear. I put Olive Oil in for weeks but the nurse couldn't shift it with a Syringe. So I got 300ml of boiling water in a Jug and put in 3 Drops of Tea Tree Oil, let it cool slightly so that there is still some steam. Then held my ear over the Jug for a couple of minutes and behold I can hear again. All thanks for the advice from my dear departed Grandma, she rarely used a Doctor.

livefornaps · 02/05/2017 16:06

Omg who has read the beginning of captain Corelli's mandolin? When the doc hooks the pea out of the old man's ear & it is covered in wax - ahhhh!!!!!!

TryingToChange · 02/05/2017 18:40

I had mine vaccumed.

It felt good but I giggled so much as it tickled also! Grin

TryingToChange · 02/05/2017 18:41
