Inspired by another thread..

if you designed the Mother's Day Aisle in the local supermarket, what would be in it?

Champagne

Really nice flowers - big bunches of roses, lilies, sweet peas.

Earl grey flavoured chocolate.

Bulbs for planting

Nice stationery and notebooks.

Nice soap. Hand cream and bath oil.

Plymouth Gin.

LongPieceofString · 26/03/2014 13:55

Garden bench
Shed
New windows

MintyChops · 26/03/2014 14:49

A massage at home in front of the fire followed by a roast dinner cooked by someone else, accompanied by an amazing bottle of Pinot noir then into bed with clean sheets to read Hilary Mantel's third Thomas Cromwell book (she hasn't finished writing it yet but this what I want). Then sleep glorious sleep.

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 14:56

Vouchers for a long weekend (or better still a week) at the snoozatorium. This is my own private fantasy business which involves a chaffeur coming to take you to a beautiful country house side where you are greeted by a sweet woman who says 'My dear you look so tired', and takes you up to your room where there are prewarmed flannel pajamas lying on a four poster bed, with a roaring fire, an amazing bathroom full of seriously lovely products, with a stack of books or magazines on the bedside next to a pudding menu (delivered to your room, naturally).

You could go for a massage/jacuzzi/walk around the beautiful grounds if you want, but there's absolutely no requirement to do anything other than crawl into bed and stay there. Oh and proper starched linen sheets, DVD box sets and purring cat also available if you like.

Please feel free to add your own fantasies here....

OldBeanbagz · 26/03/2014 15:01

A bottle of Champagne
13 minutes of peace & quiet that coincides with The Archers (bit of a long shot i know)

Toospotty · 26/03/2014 15:45

Ocelot, you would make a fortune.

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 16:01

Glad you like the idea Toospotty! Alas I lack the venture capital, but am very happy for any enterprising business women to take it off my hands if they will allow me to come and stay once in a while!

Any ideas of what else to add? A friend of mine reckons Aramis from the Three Musketeers to offer foot rubs, but I can't see that leading to much snoozing...Although I was all in favour of her NO LEGO TO PICK UP WHATSOEVER rule....

I think it would fly myself...anyone want to join me for a long (fantasy) weekend in the snoozatorium? Or am I just a greedy cow for not settling for a Cadburys Creme Egg?

Incidentally, I should add that this idea was my sister's originally (who has 4 DC and runs her own business). Although much elaborated upon by both of us over bottle of red wine!

NCISaddict · 26/03/2014 16:09

Whisky(single malt) and a clean and tidy house.

LaGuardia · 26/03/2014 16:23

Godiva chocolate
Cheetos puffs (USA ones not the Polish ones in Morrisons)
Lovely stationery
A 14k gold nib fountain pen
Someone to work my shift this Sunday.

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 16:25

Oh and I want to add a special 'Compassion' wing to my snoozatorium for parents whose DC are just shocking sleepers for years and/or had a really rough birth experience. They get paid for by the state as an extension of emergency services in acknowledgement of the need to protect their mental health. They.have special soundproofed rooms, the best HVs in the world to cry on/run candelit baths for them and night nurses if so desired so they can just sleeeeep (havent worked out the BFing details yet). Not asking much am I?

Allalonenow · 26/03/2014 16:28

Lunch at a restaurant with good food and lots of chatter and laughter.
A trip to the theatre or the ballet.
A visit to a lovely garden.
A day out at the coast, with a walk on the beach.
A tub full of Spring flowers.

My Mum to hug.

Plomino · 26/03/2014 16:29

Ocelot , I reckon if the chauffeur was able to fit it in the boot , a hamper or two , ( or 3 , 4 or 5 ) in my case of freshly laundered and pressed clothing , plus having shopping all delivered and a immaculate home together with clean smiling children and dinner all cooked on my return would do just fine .

Other than that , I'd settle for some really decent bubbles , some Pikeur breeches , a new pair of riding boots and a vat of good behaviour from the delinquent pony . Oh and a book of riding lesson vouchers from Ben Maher , Carl Hester , and Mary King. And Kiefer Sutherland circa well anytime really .

harriet247 · 26/03/2014 16:32

A cleaner!!!
A nice sunday roast with no cooking or washing up required.
A lie in til midday un interupted but for cups of tea and hot buttery toast.
Coffee and a cigarette in the sunshine with a magazine.
(Quit smoking 2 yrs ago)

MyNameIsKenAdams · 26/03/2014 16:33

Does the Snoozatorium offer hot water bottles, cashmere bedsocks and blackout blinds? If so, im there.

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 16:35

Oh yes Plomino, forgot to mention, Mary Poppins (or male equivalent) will come to stay at your house in your absence: will clean all dirty things, fix all broken things; find all lost things; children will have an amazing time and you will return to spotless house... fully stocked fridge and roast on the table.

That's possibly a little much for the chauffeurs to manage on their own as they may also have to do a fireman's lift on some of the wearier clients...

Thisvehicleisreversing · 26/03/2014 16:36

Chocolate
Wine
Flowers
Good thriller books
Funny socks
Funny, cuddly cow things

Actually pretty much what you'd find anyway.

GlassCaseofEmotion · 26/03/2014 16:36

A weekend's worth of uninterrupted sleep, an empty laundry basket, an immaculate house full of fresh roses, a clean and stocked fridge, a tidy garden, a few bottles of Veuve, a tan, wax, haircut, mani and pedi and an A in my dissertation.

A whole life revamp basically!

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 16:37

I am sure it could be arranged Mynameisken. And do those cashmere socks need to be extra fluffy by any chance? How about a matching robe? We aim to please....

ocelot41 · 26/03/2014 16:41

Have just received text from friend who clearly recognises me (curses!) who says can state provision be extended to parents if SEN kids, single parents and anyone who is just really, really ill and wants to be left the fuck alone to die in peace?. Absolutely.

not lindor. I once made the mistake of saying I liked them, and now that's all I get from DH and my ILs. Not to sound ungrateful, but it's been 12 years. I quite like the look of Lily O'Brien's. Have trained DS1 this year when asked "what shall we get mummy?" to say "chocolates, but not the red ones!!". bet I get the lindor assortment instead

Lovecat · 26/03/2014 16:52

Decent Gin
Nick Rhodes transported from 1984 bearing a huge box of Thornton's Continental (before they got rubbish) and several hours' worth of uninterrupted peace.

Bottomless bag of McCoys Cheese & Onion
Tickets to a festival
Books that do not have pink covers and are nothing to do with sassy women opening cupcake shops
A cleaner
Lovely Shoes and the space and time to try them on properly
Pie Irons and interesting camping equipment
An RSC season ticket

I'm not sure I'm actually getting anything beyond lunch in the company of my loved ones, but lunch is good... :)
