Inspired by another thread..

if you designed the Mother's Day Aisle in the local supermarket, what would be in it?

I'm sure it's not everyone's choice, but 2 years ago this was my Mother's Day present:

I'd quite happily get more!

A lie in where when I get up the house don't look like a bomb has hit it.

tak1ngchances · 23/03/2014 07:57

Cashmere blanket
Dressing gown
Champagne
Orchids
Salted caramel chocolates

ThreeBeeOneGee · 23/03/2014 08:00

A little chequebook of promises the DCs could fill in and sign. It might include:

I promise to put my dirty underwear in the laundry basket.

I promise to make more effort at school and stop pissing off some of the teachers.

I promise to spend a bit less time on Minecraft.

I promise not to wake you up before 7am every morning.

sweepdoesntlikecrowds · 23/03/2014 08:03

Anything from espa
Baileys
Chocolate

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 23/03/2014 08:04

A chauffeur to take me and dd shopping (when she announced that's it's x's birthday and she needs a present)
The house to be immaculate and dinner cooked on return. (And not full of hungover ds)
Another house for said ds to fuck off too move in.

colleysmill · 23/03/2014 08:11

A good nights unbroken sleep
large bottle of red wine or crate of Bluebird real ale

Next Sunday we are actually having a day out - it's the local vw meet up so we are all off in our camper (to drool over other people's vans and pinch their ideas) and meeting up with my in laws for lunch. I'm looking forward to it :)

I do remember after my mum died I found mothering Sunday a very difficult time of year - especially unsolicited emails from companies saying "treat your mum this year" were not well received.

Thewhingingdefective · 23/03/2014 08:12

A cleaner
A king size bed
Gorgeous expensive bath smellies
Nice PJs and dressing gowns
Fabric and haberdashery stuff
Baking stuff
Antiques, especially book cases
Turkish food
Big pots of lavender
Really tasty cakes
Decent books and DVDs, not twee slushy crap.

BikeRunSki · 23/03/2014 08:17

A nanny
A cleaner
A playroom (we are working on this, but builder has broken his foot)
A parking space in Leeds City centre (So I don't have to rush out at 7.10 just to get a parking space anywhere for love or money)

Riddo · 23/03/2014 08:18

Dalek earrings, creme eggs, a tidy house.

chickydoo · 23/03/2014 08:22

A day off work voucher. I have worked every Mother's Day for 12 years. I would love not to have to go out to work. (I will come home at 10.00pm) tidy the mess of the day from DH & 4 kids & then prepare everything for being back at work 9.00am Monday morning.
Along with my day off voucher I would love some Clarins goodies, and a few hours in a beauty salon making me look 21 again.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 23/03/2014 08:24

Books
Pot plants (not hyacinths)
Rose bushes and a gardener. Martin Clunes could be the gardener, and maybe Lee Mack. In fact a whole line of comedians to choose from to come along and care for my household and garden chores. Not all at once, a couple a week would be great.
Really good gin

What I might actually get is some kind of music mix for my phone and a phone dock to put in the kitchen so I can play music my teenagers have selected (now it is no longer a solid wall of depressing death/slasher/screamer/metal) while it charges.

puppadompreach · 23/03/2014 08:24

Festival tickets
Gig tickets
Plane tickets
Can you see a pattern?

Delphiniumsblue · 23/03/2014 08:25

I wouldn't have a 'Mother's Day Aisle'- it isn't necessary.

missmagnum · 23/03/2014 08:26

Someone to come and do a spring clean on my entire house.

Failing that i would be happy with a box of nice chocolates.

MyNameIsKenAdams · 23/03/2014 08:30

Champagne
A lie in
Sunday Roast out somewhere
Fresh bed linen
New pjs
Box Set of The Big Bang Theory

Vajazzler · 23/03/2014 08:31

My aisle would be full of OPI and China Glaze nail lacquer at ridiculously low prices

HairyGrotter · 23/03/2014 09:01

Litres of spiced rum
Tobacco
Festival tickets
BBQ food
Music

enormouse · 23/03/2014 09:04

Nice whisky or scotch (or a tour of bushmills distillery, whisky tasting thrown in)
Banoffee pie
Tickets to see dara o briain live
Flowers ( by that I mean gerber daisies, daffodils or tulips)
Something quirky to wear off truffleshuffle
Interesting boxsets and books

Someone to cook meals and clean up after themselves
Laundry and general house elf

TawdryTatou · 23/03/2014 09:05

Patron tequila, limes, triple sec for mean Margaritas.

Box sets of Father Ted and The IT Crowd.

Chocolate peanuts.

Bunches of peonies.

Repetto shoes.

Bloch ballet pumps.

Cool hats. I like a topper or a nice bowler.

Chunky silver jewellery.

Nice stationery. I mean really nice notebooks with stiff creamy pages and flowy pens.

Rose lemonade.

Neal's Yard products.

Lelo vibrators.

Vouchers for a cut and blow dry every month, and a colour twice a year.

Mac makeup.

And Paul McGann and Guy Garvey to help me carry it all home Grin

gordyslovesheep · 23/03/2014 09:06

ohhhh baby piggies Grin not for me though - we have 3 already!

Mine would have:

a good sports massage
new trainers
brandy
a cycle helmet
a days trekking on a beach in Wales
a pony

enormouse · 23/03/2014 09:06

I love the guinea pigs weegiemum, so cute. I used to have 4.

PonceyPeas · 23/03/2014 09:23

Something with DDs hand/footprints on (she's 9 months)
A lie in
One night off of having to deal with night time wakings
One day off of nappy changes
One day off of housework/laundry

A day full of playing with DD and DH and no domestic chores

Not bothered about material stuff. No flowers etc. although chocolates would be eaten. Happily.

Beechview · 23/03/2014 10:34

As well as many of things already suggested (massage, good chocolates, books, night off)
a weeks worth of family meals that everyone will enjoy. Plus the washing up to be done.

Chocotrekkie · 23/03/2014 10:41

A huge bucket of maltesers.
