How much?!!

Kind of tied in to the thread about makeupless selfies, but I heard on the radio today that the average woman spends £100,000 in her lifetime on makeup, so a bit under £2k a year I guess if you exclude childhood and very old age. I just don't believe it. How much do you spend? I doubt if I spend £150 a year... How many women could really afford (or want to spend) that?!

In the spirit of Daily Mail contradictory reporting
Here is a link to the £100,000 a lifetime survey

I live in the NE and have spent most of my lifetime in Newcastle which puts me at the upper spend level according to the 1st survey but probably spend a maximum of £75 a year - admittedly on expensive brands just not loads of them.

I guess if you buy top end stuff and wear it every day, I am talking £30 + foundation lasting a bottle a month or two with primer, blusher, mascara, lipsticks, brow pencils, eyeliners, eyeshadow, bronzer etc then I guess it adds up. If you buy at boots for maybelline and the like then can't see many people using that much. I dread to think though if I were to add up all my 'beauty' buys for face, hair, bath, shower, nails etc how much I waste spend each year

I spend about 20-30 quid a month, so about £500 a year. That doesn't include skincare or hair.

Hmm I use Clinique mostly, so midrange, although I do have a liking for Lancôme juicy tubes and Dior eyeshadows/Christmas makeup sets, and I reckon I spend no more than £300-£350 a year.

I wear makeup every day as well.

£100 of that is foundation, a bottle of Clinique foundation is about £25 and lasts me three months.

I don't spend that much even if I include what I spend on clothes Shock .

I have probably spent about £100 on make-up so far. I am in my early forties. So if we extrapolate, I'd estimate maybe £250 in my lifetime.

If we include skincare & toiletries, it's much more. Maybe £100 a year. Plus a further £100 a year on getting my hair cut.
