to think Netflix is a bit shit; at least for kids?

[I say this hypocritically as I'm currently working my way through every episode of Buffy...]

We have run out of kids movies on Netflix. We've seen all of them at least twice and IMO the selection is really quite poor.
Does anyone else think this or am I just really spoilt? Grin

YANBU. It is shit. I would never pay for it. We do the free month trial every so often but most of the movies are ancient or straight to DVD type dreck anyway so it's not worth paying £6 a month for or whatever the actual cost is. We succumbed to the whole "Breaking Bad" hype and watched about 3 eps before getting fed up and I cancelled the subscription before they started charging me.

Hadmeathello · 02/03/2014 15:28

Love netflix in this house. The kids are never off it. They do tend to watch series more than films and we also have access to the US version Wink

Objection · 02/03/2014 15:29

Is the US version better?

I love netflix! I do agree there's not much kids stuff though. I wish they had more of the disney films.

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 02/03/2014 15:30

It's shit all round

kateecass · 02/03/2014 15:32

Google how to get on US Netflix. We have done it.

Hadmeathello · 02/03/2014 15:33

Lots of Disney films on the US version.

Objection · 02/03/2014 15:39

Is Love film much better for kids stuff?

OP posts:
ReluctantCamper · 02/03/2014 15:41

not really op. things have looked up a bit since they got bought by amazon, but they're not much different

Financeprincess · 02/03/2014 15:41

I think Netflix is rubbish, too. My DH insisted on getting it so that he could watch some Netflix-only US TV series. The films see very patchy; not much that you'd want to see or that isn't on telly regularly.

pumpkinsweetie · 02/03/2014 15:41

get the US and canadian versions, much better for an extra £3.
My dh did it for me, the canadian one is extra brill for kids films.

PseudoBadger · 02/03/2014 15:43

YABU - DS can watch Dora without it affecting me...

TheDoctorsNewKidneys · 02/03/2014 15:45

I love Netflix. We use the UK version on the PS3 and I can access the US version on my laptop as well.

MissBattleaxe · 02/03/2014 15:46

We've just cancelled Love fil because they have changed it to Amazon prime Video thingy. My DS accidentally charged us 3.49 by opting for an HD version of a film. I noticed there's a chrage for lots of films on top of the mobthly subscription so they can bugger off as far as I'm concerned.

I find Netflix brilliant for kids. My two boys love it.

DaftSkunk · 02/03/2014 15:47

I think it's pretty good for series like The Killing, The Bridge, e.t.c.

MissBattleaxe · 02/03/2014 15:47

*LoveFilm

bishbashboosh · 02/03/2014 15:49

Another one here who cancelled livefilm yesterday because they have changed it, it's ridiculous !!! Had Netflix but now have got sky on demand now

MissBattleaxe · 02/03/2014 15:53

Yes, I can no longer let the kids just choose something from LoveFilm on their own, so it's going. I bet we're not the only ones leaving, bishbash!

ReluctantCamper · 02/03/2014 16:20

You can set up a pin that you have to enter before you incurr extra charges on lovefilm, which I have done. but the new system is insanely confusing, and I'm thinking about bailing too.

skittycat · 02/03/2014 16:25

I think Netflix has it's moments... Sometimes it's great sometimes it shite... I'm currently watching the full first series of pokemon... Because I'm that cool.

MummyBeerest · 02/03/2014 16:28

Netflix has Thomas, which is pretty well all DD will watch. So it's A-OK by me.

MrsBungle · 02/03/2014 16:28

I like netflix for adult series like the bridge and the killing but it is crap for kids - at least film-wise.

jeee · 02/03/2014 16:42

Anyone who's had to stand the torture that is 'Horseland' will inevitably agree with you.

However... my children love Netflix.

bishbashboosh · 02/03/2014 16:58

On love film I got even more infuriated trying to actually cancel the bloody thing!!!!

crochetedblanket · 02/03/2014 17:05

Love film has peppa pig and Ben and holly. Miss that now we've swapped to Netflix!
