It's doing my head in. 5 leading actors and I fancy ALL of them. I tried to pick the one I fancied most when he was a simple cartoon dog and that was Aramis, but just one look as sexy Richelieu in his black cloak of evil and I'm a gooey mess.

It's turned me into such a tart, but IABU to want all of them. No? Ok thanks.

Hm. Saying that I think I did recently opine on another thread that I would do James McAvoy till his ears rang, so maybe I need to think further about this...

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 28/02/2014 19:29

Uh oh...that was Capaldi wasn't it?

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 28/02/2014 19:30

What MadBusLady said

And try as I might, I just can't get my time machine to work to take me back to an idealised 17th century France so I'm fairly sure it's never going to happen

LetUsPrey · 28/02/2014 19:32

MTM Grin

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 19:32

Have faith, LetUsPrey, we'll get there yet.

HermioneWeasley · 28/02/2014 19:33

I would LOVE Capaldi to do a web chat, but I bet he'd run a mile!

(Auto correct put "web chat" as "wench at". Or possibly my dodgy typing!)

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 28/02/2014 19:37

Dear god if we can't lust over imaginary men from 16the century France then there really is NO HOPE!

Well I have now decided the order is as follows...

Richelieu/Athos/
Porthos
Aramis
Traville
Dogtanian

Richelieu Athos and I are going to be the next Rod Jane and Freddie for a new young generation. Now if that isn't a positive to come out of this thread, then I don't know what the fuck IS.

As probably the only catholic on this thread it's pretty obvious to me that I - and only I - would get to kiss the cardinals ring :)

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 19:43

Plus I find it insulting to be compared to some leering letch.

Are people not allowed to find others/actors/celebrities attractive?

No crushes allowed?
Dh likes Kelly Brook. I think he has good taste.

I like the Dumas book. I like the tv programme version of updating it.
We can discuss the style of writing if that helps.

I can talk about Tolstoy, Pasternak and Akhmatova , if you prefer. I had to read War and Peace, in Russian, whilst having my English version open at the same time, if that makes you feel any better!!

Pompous arse. Why don't you just jog on ......

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 19:45

Rod, Jane and Freddie?

Have nearly spluttered my wine !!

Stinklebell · 28/02/2014 19:47

Plus I find it insulting to be compared to some leering letch

God, I've been a right leering letch since the bloody programme started. Grin

As Madbuslady said. I've seen Tom Burke being interviewed a couple of times. He's alright but doesn't inspire the bosom heaving that 'Athos' does

I was waiting for someone to come and tell us off

doorkeeper · 28/02/2014 19:49

Bah, Trader's post is just a classic "what about the menz" thing. Would any of us embarrass the actors we are talking about if we met them by saying these things out loud? No? Is there a huge difference, over the course of history, between the way men are objectified and the way women are objectified? Yes. Are men still, as a class, privileged over women as a class? Yes. Trader is comparing apples and oranges, not apples and apples.

tl;dr Carry on, ladies.

(The Cardinal all the way, btw, but it looks like I'd have to get in line.)

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 19:50

Badvoc, I have to tell you, my ds1 , aged 10, same as yours, ( at catholic school) , got award this week, for his writing of the Tudors.
A fight scene. Swords. Based entirely on Musketeers, episodes 1-5.

Ha ha. How I had a little giggle to myself.

So, there you go MTM. Other than Rod , Jane and Freddie, Wink something good has actually come out of this thread!!

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 19:55

I take that back at leering letch. Ha ha.

I'm with MadBus and Stinkle.

Badvoc · 28/02/2014 19:56

Hahaha Ob :)
Ds1 is so clueless, bless him.
He thinks I like it for the historical references and pretty costumes.
I suppose it will dawn on him when he gets older :)

Badvoc · 28/02/2014 19:58

Oh, Ffs.
I am am not objectifying the actors!
I am objectifying the FICTIONAL characters!
I want leather jerkins, gauntlets, hats with feathers in, long swishy hair and black cloaks!
Fuck reality!

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 20:00

Ha ha Badvoc. My ds too, clueless. Love naivety at 10, don't you? Wink

Oblomov · 28/02/2014 20:04

Agreed. We've all agreed its the leather, the costumes, the leaning, the shirts, the swords. Their dirty greasy hair.

What's that got to do with objectifying current day breakfast presenters and weather girls?

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 28/02/2014 20:09

Oh god yes. The facial hair, the head hair the hats the leather. The entires production of the programme is absolutely visually stunning! Even my mum watches it every week and complains about it being "nonsense" but she's got her eye on those musketeers! Even the actors find it sexy...you can see it in their eyes! Grin

Arlene Phillips, former Strictly Come Dancing Judge is a big fan. And said that they were all mighty fine attractive.

MadBusLady · 28/02/2014 20:20

You actually can. They bloody love it. I would if I were a bloke.

Badvoc · 28/02/2014 20:22

I perform a valuable service dontcha know!
Without sad peri menopausal old gimmers like me these poor actors would be out of work!
Who, pray tell, were the bbc targeting when the commissioned this series do you think?
That is correct.
Me.

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 28/02/2014 20:28

It's 100% Sunday night Ladyporn cunningly disguised as a family drama and everybody knows it!

OP posts:
Oblomov · 28/02/2014 20:29

Agreed. The target audience? Me.
