To think that P&C spaces in supermarket car parks

AIBU to think that where there is a pedestrian pavement down the middle of a supermarket car park, it would make far more sense to have the parent and child parking in a well lit area further away from the entrance. This would mean that the spaces would not get clogged up by drivers without children too lazy to find a space, and in some car parks could be in an area with less traffic.

Sorry, I'm sure missing the E from a fake Internet nickname makes me a incomprehensible cunt..

I didn't do anything wrong. She shouldn't park there, rules are rules.

And yes, I am a fantastic mother Madame, you taking the piss doesn't make it less true.

Definitely Ziggie, I said Boney shouldn't park there as she didn't have a blue badge. People can't make up their own rules.

Hello all. LOTS of reports about this thread, am slowly working my way through it. It currently resembles a supermarket Swiss Cheese... could I possibly take this opportunity to remind everyone of the MN guidelines and ask you to pay particular attention to the section on disablist language? (And personal attacks, ahem.) If in doubt, leave it out and all that.

Actually coconutty, if we're being picky sometimes they're called parent & toddler! Smile

SanityClause · 20/02/2014 19:51

Coconutty, that's very naughty!

Georgie will tell you off!

If they're parent and toddler spaces, are you allowed to park there with a baby that can't walk yet?

Just curious.

MadameDefarge · 20/02/2014 19:53

who invited you to the drinks party, Curious?

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:53

I invited myself, I'm a cunt like that Wink

MadameDefarge · 20/02/2014 19:54

Only serious drinkers allowed here, you know.

MadameDefarge · 20/02/2014 19:54

you are far too lightweight m'dear.

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:54

Don't worry, I can keep up.

ziggiestardust · 20/02/2014 19:54

Yes those were the posts, where she talked to the lady with the sore knee.

I bet you any money that if I said 'I'm on crutches and I parked in a p&c and got a fine' on here I would get an absolute pasting. People would say:

  1. why are you driving if you're so injured you need to park closer to the shop; what about internet shopping etc?
  2. you disobeyed the signs up outside the shop; you knew the risk
  3. you weren't supposed to park there and took a space allocated to a mother

And technically, they'd be right. That's what this world is like; if you're in the wrong (in their eyes), you're in the wrong.

SauvignonBlanche · 20/02/2014 19:55

I'm off out, play nice!

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:56

Thanks Ziggie, but I think once you've been branded a cunt all bets are off! Grin

(Common sense will never prevail on a P&C thread!)

ziggiestardust · 20/02/2014 19:57

coconutty the branch of Sainsburys near me, it says only for children under the age of 12 on the sign.
