To think that P&C spaces in supermarket car parks

AIBU to think that where there is a pedestrian pavement down the middle of a supermarket car park, it would make far more sense to have the parent and child parking in a well lit area further away from the entrance. This would mean that the spaces would not get clogged up by drivers without children too lazy to find a space, and in some car parks could be in an area with less traffic.

IamInvisible did you report them saying:

"Excuse me, i popped a baby out of my minge a few years ago, that parking spot should be mine!"

get a grip - Anyone can technically use them, thats the law.

Maryz, I agree with you, people with a perfectly abled 9 year old do not need to park there, but babies, carseats etc, it makes life a lot easier.

But this whole, who can park, is totally about its proximity to the store, which is why I think they should be moved. Because then they would be free for people who genuinely need them.

No, Ziggie, they are not rules they are guidelines because P&C spaces are not actually enforceable!

ziggiestardust · 20/02/2014 19:21

maryz I think the disabled badge rules are fucked up. I think you should be able to get a temporary pass if you have need of a wheelchair etc. My dad has COPD and is entitled to a blue badge; he only sometimes would be in need of that blue badge though. My DH broke his ankles and getting him in and out of the car with a chair etc was hard work. We didn't have DC then so couldn't have parked in a p&c in any case; some sort of temporary badge would have been a good idea.

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:21

Iaminvisible - they are in Sainsbury's near me. I swear.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 20/02/2014 19:21

I think P&C spaces are a good idea but it's ridiculous that some people defend them by claiming they couldn't possibly cope without them. If people just admitted that they're a great perk, I'd respect them totally.

MadameDefarge · 20/02/2014 19:22

Twould be lovely to pissed at this time.

Sadly I am looking at a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (funny that eh?) and wondering whether to crack it open or not.

IamInvisible · 20/02/2014 19:22

blahblah I didn't report them, Curious did. I couldn't give two hoots who parks where as long as they don't park in disabled bays.

ziggiestardust · 20/02/2014 19:22

They asked her not to park in a space. She went and did it anyway. You can't just pick and choose what you want to abide by. Follow the rules. Why didn't they apply to her?

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:22

Maryz - because I said Boney shouldn't park in a P&C space because she had no blue badge, no child and a sore knee?

Yeah, what of it?

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:23

Candy - up thread I said 'people will just manage without them, but they make life easier'

That's my entire point!

blahblahblah2014 · 20/02/2014 19:23

Whoops sorry iaminvisible, i see i read your other post wrong, you were quoting not saying it doh - That'll teach me for skimming and yes i totally agree

Everyone for themselves, bar the disabled bays ;)

IamInvisible · 20/02/2014 19:23

Who enforces them in the Sainsburys car park Curious? And you would know, wouldn't you because you report people for parking in them!

MadameDefarge · 20/02/2014 19:24

ooh, can we square up now?

Curious has issues the 'what of it?' challenge...

though Curious, you might wonder why those posts were deleted, they can hardly have been benign, could they?

issued...ahem

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:25

They were read out of context from what Claudius wrote to me.

But I didn't report her, as she clearly did me, because this is not a big deal. It's a conversation online with strangers.

Hence the grip.

There's like, 10 of you ganging up. That's not a debate. It's verging on bullying tbh and I don't like it. Why do people need to resort to name calling?! It's a parent and child parking thread!!

Seriously, do you all know each other and when one of you can handle the heat of a debate any more; get all of your mates across to paste somebody? Because from my standpoint, that's how it looks.

curiousgeorgie · 20/02/2014 19:25

Madame - are you my mother in law Wink

IamInvisible · 20/02/2014 19:25

What part of blue badge rules are "fucked up"?
