Tunnocks huge hugs for you all x

NigellaLawless · 01/02/2014 22:20

Yes, he wasn't always but at some point in the last 10years he has definitely become my best friend. My two best friends from uni I now think of as extra sisters Grin

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 01/02/2014 22:24

Without a doubt, my best friend and so much more :)
So sorry to hear that Tunnocks :(

EmmaBemma · 01/02/2014 22:28

yes. He's the only person in the whole world I can be completely myself with. I have to make some kind of effort with everyone else (including immediate family like my mum and dad). There's nothing I wouldn't tell him. Well, there's a couple of things I wouldn't tell him, but I wouldn't tell them to anyone else either.

EmmaBemma · 01/02/2014 22:29

oh no, tunnocks. I'm sorry.

blobandsnail · 01/02/2014 22:30

Yes. We were best friends long before we were anything else. Being each others best friend complicates things at times. But my love for him as a friend is unconditional.

FlyingDucky · 01/02/2014 22:31

One of them. Most of the time.

NigellaLawless · 01/02/2014 22:32

Tunnocks I'm so sorry to hear that Sad

BackforGood · 01/02/2014 22:40

This

I have more than one close friend and I would consider DH one of them. We're very close and spend time together but I also need female friendship!

Thanks Topaz25

Goodness yes. It's as though our personalities have merged into one.

Doesn't fill the void of a good woman friend, though.

fraiserno · 01/02/2014 22:43

Hope so tunnocksteacake.

TooOldForGlitter · 01/02/2014 22:46

No not at all. I often would like him to be but if he was a woman we'd hate each other.

postmanpatscat · 01/02/2014 23:03

Yes, although I also have a female BF who is more like my sister than my real sister is.

scantilymad · 01/02/2014 23:04

Sorry tunnocks :(

DH is my best male friend....
My best friend is female and has been around longer than DH. I do some things with one I wouldn't do with the other but I wouldn't be without either.

differentnameforthis · 01/02/2014 23:07

No, because 'best friend' implies (to me) a close platonic relationship. I don't want a platonic relationship with dh.

differentnameforthis · 01/02/2014 23:09

only person who knows the real me, warts and all Same with my dh, but he still isn't my best friend for reasons already stated.

BrianTheMole · 01/02/2014 23:09

Same here Tunnocks. My dh is seriously ill as well. He's my best friend. I can't imagine how it will be when he's not here anymore.

missymarmite · 01/02/2014 23:11

Dp surprised me once by saying I was his best mate. When I thought about it, i realised he was right. He knows me better than I know myself. My actual best (female) friend is more like the sister I never had.

differentnameforthis · 01/02/2014 23:12

So sorry, tunnocksteacake

cory · 01/02/2014 23:14

He is one of my closest friends, certainly. And I have had some very good female friends too. And one or two male ones. But I'm not sure I'm really into the whole best-friend thing, really.

I'm so sorry Tunnocks & Brian. Sad

My DH is my best friend, absolutely. He was before he became my DH.

mumeeee · 01/02/2014 23:19

Yes definitely. So sorry tunnocks
