And Sibling Grin
My best friend is a woman who I have known for longer than my own Sister. We have been through illness, grief, shitty hotel rooms, a hell of a lot of alcohol and some of the best times together. She's my friend, DH is my husband. It's just different.
Doesn't mean I love him less, just differently.

MrsBartlet · 01/02/2014 21:57

Without a doubt.

Stripytop · 01/02/2014 21:58

Without a doubt.

ExcuseTypos · 01/02/2014 21:58

100% my best friend.

drivingmisslazy · 01/02/2014 21:58

yes my dh is.

MaureenMLove · 01/02/2014 21:58

Ummm, not quite. He's almost my best friend, but my real best friend was here about 5 years before him. The most informative and er, fun years, therefore she has to remain my best friend, as she knows too much! Grin

Whatnamenext · 01/02/2014 21:59

Yes but luckily for me he was actually my friend before getting together.

fishybits · 01/02/2014 21:59

Yes

Topaz25 · 01/02/2014 21:59

I have more than one close friend and I would consider DH one of them. We're very close and spend time together but I also need female friendship!

GertyD · 01/02/2014 22:00

Absolutely. He is still my favourite person to get drunk and stop being a responsible adult with Grin

SlightlyDampWellies · 01/02/2014 22:00

Yes

Raahh · 01/02/2014 22:01

Yes, my dh knows me better than anyone. Definitely my best friend.

kennyp · 01/02/2014 22:01

not at all!!! in some ways he "gets" me like no-one else does, but he's not my best friend. i'll talk to anyone else about problems/issues before i talk to him.

Helpyourself · 01/02/2014 22:01

Yes. Even when he's really irritating I know he 'gets' me and always has my back.

Marrow · 01/02/2014 22:01

He's my best friend. I don't have any other close friends Sad

Thetallesttower · 01/02/2014 22:01

No, my best friend is my best friend, my husband is my husband. I think there are differences between the two roles, mainly that I don't have sex with my bf and I am much nicer to her. And I am absolutely a wife to my husband, not a best friend, he wouldn't see this as the same thing either.

hottea7 · 01/02/2014 22:03

No, I adore him but not my best friend.

Fishandjam · 01/02/2014 22:06

Yes. I'd love to have a female best friend but I doubt it'll happen now after 40 years of never having one. I'm a loner, so is DH. We suit each other admirably.

SockQueen · 01/02/2014 22:07

Yes.

I have never really had one "best friend" though. I have a small group of friends who I am very close to, but I couldn't single one of them out as best. There are some things that I will do with my female friends that I wouldn't want to do with DH, but overall he is the one I am closest to and who knows me best.

myalteregosaysmiow · 01/02/2014 22:09

DH and I were friends since childhood and matured together...from playing football to fucking, which I guess is pretty weird?! I dont actually know! Either way, both of us were left totally red faced by our mums constant cooing when they found out we were an item

Doodledumdums · 01/02/2014 22:10

Yes, but then again, i'm relatively friendless, so it's not hard to gain 'best friend' status with me!

tinytalker · 01/02/2014 22:13

No! In fact I'm starting to think after 17yrs of marriage that he is in fact my nemesis!

PervyMuskrat · 01/02/2014 22:14

Yes
