To ask, is Jim Davidson really a nice man?

I was just chatting with OH here and I said I quite liked him on CBB. Apart from a few questionable remarks to Casey he seems a reasonably nice guy. OH reckons he has a bad reputation. Is this true? If so why?

I just lump him in with Bernard Manning, Jimmy Tarbuck etc and leave them in the past. Their gigs are getting smaller and smaller.

I think he used to be very unpleasant, but people do change. I'm not condoning his behaviour in the past because it's appalling but maybe he's mellowed in his old age? I've got to say his friendship or "bromance" with Dappy has been very sweet to watch, and they seem to be genuinely fond of each other.

That being said I used to love reading Holy moly back in the day, and their mail outs were often full of stories about how rude Jim had been to people at theatres and hotels Holy moly was run by Jamie East who used to appear regularly on Bit on the Side but was sacked last year. I really wish he was still on there so we could get his views on Jim.
