To be scared by moving bin bag? Wwyd?

I live in a Victorian semi, bay window on front, front door at side down a (private, mind only) path that also leads to my back gate. Neighbour that I'm not joined to has same so their front door is opposite mine they also have a path to back gate, path is split in half by 3foot wall all along.

So, lots of extra rubbish recently, dh works abroad a lot, I don't drive so have to wait for him to come back to go to tip. Our wheelie bin is outside our front door and about two foot to the right. Currently full, dh in poland.

Bear with me it gets more interesting Grin

I put two black bin bags out the front of my door and to the right by the bin.

Went out last week, came back and one of the bin bags was right in front of my door in the middle of the steps. I thought 'weird' but was so busy just forgot about it. Friday I went to pick children up from school, bin bag my right of door. Came back, came in house. Hour later I opened door to let cat out and the bin bag is on my steps again right in the middle. Freaked out as dh still away and next door were broken into recently. Saw next door and asked them, they say not them, (I could understand sort of if was as it is next to ish their front door but would expect them to just speak to me, they're nice we get on ok) but that a different neighbour who lives opposite and a good 40/50 foot away on other side of a road, had been moaning about my bin bags.

Tonight, left house, bin bag where I put it. Went and picked children up, got back (20 mins) and there was the bin bag in the middle of my steps again in front of my door. Really freaked out as twice it's happened when I've gone to pick children up so is he watching me leave??

I know the type of person to do this is unlikely to be a murderer (!) but aibu to feel totally freaked out and scared? And what should I do?

It might be the nice neighbours being passive aggressive.

Put a note under it saying 'my DH is watching you from an upstairs window'

I'd go with a visit to all m neighbours saying you've contacted the police who will be round in the next couple of days and may want to talk to them. In the meantime if they could keep an eye out.

And film it.

But do get a bin to put the bags in Smile

CrapBag · 23/01/2014 10:19

Piss all over the outside of the bags so when they pick it up they will get pissy fingers. Grin

I'm dead grown up.

eurochick · 23/01/2014 10:34

Stick a note on the bag saying "smile! You are on camera :)".

It's been going on for over aweek, and your DH is home now - why don't you just take the extra rubbish to the dump or recycling centre? And then buy another bin on the way home...

I think op has said that's what she will do. I think the point of the thread is about how creepy and odd it is. Why not just ask her to move them? I suspect it's because they know how petty they will sound. What might be next? What if her grass gets a tiny bit too long? Or she doesn't deadhead her roses? Or her car isn't shiny?

happynewday · 23/01/2014 17:56

Hidden camera in your window pointing at your bin bags? Or a webcam, maybe stream it live to your laptop.

Most bizarre!

Please record & get to the bottom of it.

SarahAndFuckTheResolutions · 24/01/2014 17:28

I thought your bin bag had something moving inside it.

I was going to suggest hitting it with something.

Now I'm going to suggest hiding in the bushes, waiting for someone to come along and move it, and leaping out on them shouting 'Ninja' and making chopping movements with your hands.

Or the iPad recording. Whichever you think best Grin
