Its my daughters 2nd birthday party on saturday. Ive booked a soft play party and have 9 children confirmed as comming. Does this seam ok for a party bag? 2 diffrent sweets, large bouncy ball, bubbles, colouring book, crayons, age appropriate pocket money toy ie frizbie, skipping rope... twirly straw, balloon on a stick and party popper.. they also will get a bit of cake and a fuzzy eds party bag. Does that seam ok?

Seems very generous to me! Mind you, my DD is 17 and parties seem to have got more supersized since I was doing them.

WaffilyVersatile · 14/01/2014 19:52

it seems like a lot tbh but its up to you!

Lilacroses · 14/01/2014 19:54

That's more than enough. Hope you have a lovely time!

Crowler · 14/01/2014 19:54

I'm anti-gift bags. I've never given them since my precious first born's first birthday party. It works pretty well for me.

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 14/01/2014 19:54

They sound fine but.......My DS was 2 in December we avoided party bags like the plague they seem to be another example of competitive parenting.

It's so close to Xmas I decided they really didn't need more plastic tosh that's end up in the bin by the end of the day.

Thatisall · 14/01/2014 19:54

Seems like loads of stuff to me. Personally I hate those pocket lovey type toys you get in party bags, they always end up broken and thrown away.

I think you're being very generous OP

Thatisall · 14/01/2014 19:55

Pocket money not pocket lovey!! Omg it's the goats and think vitamins thing all over again

WidowWadman · 14/01/2014 19:55

I've only put sweets into party bags and received no complaints, yours seem a bit OTT.

onepieceoflollipop · 14/01/2014 19:55

Sounds plenty, too much rather than not enough. :)

For my 6 year old we did 1-2 chocolate/sweet items (freddo etc). Little colouring book with crayons. birthday cake.

Magix · 14/01/2014 19:56

More than what I ever put Blush definitely fine !!Smile

Crowler · 14/01/2014 19:56

Yes. My kids walk in the door with a party bag --> I hatch a plan to get it into the bin. ASAP. I hate them.

onepieceoflollipop · 14/01/2014 19:58

One year (age 4) we did a lucky dip, some dcs complained about lack of party bag!

My 10 yr old now sorts her own, I give her a budget and she buys various stationery/confectionery/claire's items!

ilovepowerhoop · 14/01/2014 19:59

Sound an awful lot. I have stopped giving toys in mine and just do sweets, crisps and cake.

JupiterGentlefly · 14/01/2014 20:00

Never include a whistle. Or plastic mouth organ. Unless you want scores of parents committing infanticide on the journey home.

Rhubarbgarden · 14/01/2014 20:03

Bit too much imo. I just give them a slice of birthday cake and a balloon.

DaftSkunk · 14/01/2014 20:04

Sounds very generous, I think you have more than enough stuff. Hope the party goes well Smile.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 14/01/2014 20:05

That seems very generous, my DS would love coming to the party just for the party bag! Hope you and your family enjoy the party

Only1scoop · 14/01/2014 20:08

Sound lovely ....I always go overboard with mine also. Keep seeing other little bargains and popping em in Wink

JabberJabberJay · 14/01/2014 20:09

Sounds like a lot but my kids would love it!

gordyslovesheep · 14/01/2014 20:10

I wouldn't put a party popper in a 2 year olds party bag - but other than that it seems fine - not sure YABU though!

BabyMummy29 · 14/01/2014 20:11

Sounds great - you're being very generous.

LowLevelWhinging · 14/01/2014 20:13

that's too much.

Save some for next year, seriously.

Round here we get:

cake - bin
whistle - bin
chewy sweet
lolly
bubbles - spilt within 45 seconds

fruitpastille · 14/01/2014 20:13

That's about double the usual amount ime.

LowLevelWhinging · 14/01/2014 20:14

wait, party popper?? NO! don't give gun powder to toddlers is a top tip.
