I am fed up of all the "worthiness" and general holier than thou, I am right and you are wrong threads lately.

Can we have a fun thread?

I will even put if that helps?

I just want a bit of a laugh. There no chatting rubbish, having a joke threads any more.

I dont like it. At all.

Where are the amusing, dont need to feel superior to everyone else people?
Could you all just come in here and hide for a while? I will provide alcohol. And food.

Where is everyone anyway?

There are loads of people missing, have they all found somewhere else to go? And deliberatley not told me?

Some MNers played Mumsnet Bingo, starting multiple threads and a relatively new Mod got a bit overwhelmed because she was left alone to do the job. Then after she deleted/threatened to suspend/actually suspended, some posters verbually abused her (calling her a cunt at one point) and the site shut down for an hour or so.

I have to do actual work today too Tantrums its because my DH doesn't earn enough to support me and I picked badly when choosing my spouse because I was more interested in his lovely big heart than his painfully thin wallet.

Always wanted to use painfully thin

AbbeyBartlet · 09/01/2014 13:45

Tantrums that's terrible!

Btw, are you the same poster that is in classics about babysitting a little girl? I was bored and going through classics the other night and came across it!

TantrumsAndBalloons · 09/01/2014 13:46

Same here captain. Paper thin wallets, can't even keep me in Aldi carrier bags, let alone diamonds Grin

Hello Tantrums. Can't drink as that would be wrong on the school run later. What food you offering though?

Heartbrokenmum73 · 09/01/2014 13:48

I was more interested in his lovely big heart than his painfully thin wallet.

Excuse me for going all mushy, but that's one of the loveliest things I've ever read on here.

I want one of those now...

Ilovexmastime · 09/01/2014 13:48

Thanks BaileyWhite. Orgle.

SomethingkindaOod · 09/01/2014 13:49

Just flounced off a thread that was going batshit, can I flounce into here? I have Aldi champagne and pretzels...
I am not liking the husband/partner bashing that is going on recently, what happened to couples that actually like and support each other along with the occasional putting up with bad habits and the odd night out?
And as for the poor MILs...

TantrumsAndBalloons · 09/01/2014 13:49

Erm, I've got half a kit Kat in my bag sparkling

And a box of blueberry porridge in the kitchen at work

I've been here donkeys years and haven't noticed any change. However, in the spirit of the thread, I offer my attempt at lightening the mood of MN with one of only two jokes I know:

A French man was arrested for having sex with a corpse.
"But I did not know she was dead" he told the Police
"I thought that she was English"

BloominNora · 09/01/2014 13:50

See you've posted in AIBU. If you'd have posted in chat, I could have put THIS PICTURE on to cheer everyone up Wink

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2014 13:50

My baby boy is 12 today. I am happy and sad. It only seems like yesterday I gave birth to him.

AbbeyBartlet · 09/01/2014 13:51

Bloomin Thank you for cheering up my day!

Heartbrokenmum73 · 09/01/2014 13:52

Rob Lowe Shock

Speaking of fans, a woman sat next to me in a coffee shop today and pulled out a big red fan (one of those concertina-type ones) to cool herself with. I was reading but couldn't help watching out of the corner of my eye - it was just so...different?

PaulMcGannsMistress · 09/01/2014 13:53

It goes in cycles, like lots on t'interwebs. I think thekitchenfairy is right that it tends to happen after MN is in the media. But it all rights itself in the end.

SomethingkindaOod · 09/01/2014 13:54

Well I didn't need to put the heating on after seeing that picture Grin I seem to have got all hot and bothered..

thekitchenfairy · 09/01/2014 13:54

Happy birthday not-so-mini-Sparkling Cake

BloominNora · 09/01/2014 13:54

That picture in particular does seem to have the uncanny knack of making me grin like the cheshire cat smile.

TheBigBumTheory · 09/01/2014 13:55

YANBU

A definite lack of the threads that make me cry and wheeze with laughter. I was thinking maybe it is just a January thing..

I suspect even if I start a mindless banter/funnier than thou thread, it will be seized upon by people determined to be offended/surprised/shocked by nothing at all Sad

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2014 13:55

Aww thanks kitchenfairy. I just can't believe it. 12. Shock

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 09/01/2014 13:56

That's funny, Nina Grin

thekitchenfairy · 09/01/2014 13:56

..thank you Nora Now that has cheered my dullsville day!

TheBigBumTheory · 09/01/2014 13:56

Nina GrinGrin

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2014 13:57

The Chinny Reckon thread is very funny. No derailment, everyone entered into the spirit, and there are clips of Trevor and Simon in the Singing Corner.
