I'm just waiting for someone from the PO brigade to turn up now and say why this thread is all kinds of wrong.

Were any of you on the 'This Just Isn't On?' (I think) thread the other day, about having a goat? It was loads of fun, but someone turned up 'why do you all think it's ok to laugh at the poor?' - erm, I am poor! I didn't feel laughed at - I joined in. It was the antidote to all the benefit bashing we've had lately (thanks Ch4).

Sadly MNHQ promoting that other thread all over social media has increased the chances that trolly threads will gain quarter on here. And more and more posters are being suckered in by them.

They have given them permission.

But its just so earth shatteringly dull.

You cant laugh at anything any more. Ever.

You do know lots of people are facing early deaths from drinking too much alcohol and eating too much food. Why would you think it is lighthearted to ask people to join you in doing that?

Hmmm... have to agree there ain't much fun round here these days. Noticed last night and again now (lunch hour) scanning Active convos, usually guaranteed to distract me for the full hour that there is nothing lighthearted.

I was on that thread Heartbroken - it was awesome! Funny how there was the discussion about PO and irony bunting and then someone came along and complained!

Agree it is Dullsville round here at the moment. Loads of familiar names missing.

Why did MN shut down the site? Bloody hell, take a week off and miss all the drama.... and I'm a right drama llama me, orgle (noise a llama makes apparently!)

This did happen about 5 years ago old gimmer alert but it will pick up again! Think people get nosey and site attracts a lot of people who wouldn't usually bother when MN has been in the media.
