....which refer to previous posts or posters, but don't add anything to the discussion, e.g. "I agree with x", "What x said", or even "^^ This.". What's the point, other than to get your username on the screen or jump on a bandwagon? If you're going to the trouble of posting, why not contribute something? If someone's already said exactly what you think, there's no need to post! Aaargh!

Note to self - never, ever, think aloud on AIBU again.

Because it builds armies on each side, and I think that can be a useful thing - when you realise that about 80 people agree with the person who just disagreed with you, you start to question your own standpoint.

Plus it makes me really happy when someone just posts 'I agree with Rooners' or 'Rooners said what I meant but better'.

Actually when someone posts that they agree with me, while on one level I am happy that the illusion of my greatness is still trundling on, I also get a 'God, you poor deluded sucker - you're following the blind' feeling.

It isn't all as good as it seems at the top, yunno...

It depends. Sometimes you're just letting the OP know your view to add to the numbers but someone has put exactly what you want to say or sometimes people say it (usually to certain well known and popular posters) to arselick - especially when they have ignored several less well known posters who have said the same thing.
