....which refer to previous posts or posters, but don't add anything to the discussion, e.g. "I agree with x", "What x said", or even "^^ This.". What's the point, other than to get your username on the screen or jump on a bandwagon? If you're going to the trouble of posting, why not contribute something? If someone's already said exactly what you think, there's no need to post! Aaargh!

And for the same reason, especially if I feel they are being out numbered, or I desperately was trying to think of what to say (nicely) and they have said for me

And I don't jump on band wagons, I find that comment really insulting

I do it sometimes. i just want to express an opinion, or support the poster I'm agreeing with. Sometimes I want to compliment them - is that so bad?

Example: AIBU to kick puppies?
Poster 1: no, that is perfectly reasonable
Poster 2: yes. That is unspeakably cruel.

Most people would agree with poster 2 (I think!) but she has already summed up what their responses would be. However if nobody posts to say they agree with poster 2, OP could assume that she is reasonable to kick puppies because she has support from 50% of responses.

See the problem? Or would you like every poster to rephrase their answer, which could be exactly the same as a pp, just so nothing is repeated?

If you are canvassing opinions, knowing that someone feels the same as a pp still gives you an idea of where they stand.

What is mildly irritating is when someone agrees with someone else, even though I said it first.
