Just wow!

I agree with the government, if people are able to work and are not even.trying then they should have there benefits stopped.

But there were families on.there not being able to.afford to feed there kids makes me so sad........

but, the parents have a can in there hand and a fag in there mouth, aibu to think you would give up everything to make sure your children are well feed and warm?Shock

yeah yeah but you know that the programme will have been edited to show folk in the worst poss light doncha?

D0oinMeCleanin · 06/01/2014 22:18

Oh dear, might I suggest a GCSE in Media Studies?

Farrowandbawl · 06/01/2014 22:18

You need to stop watching this propaganda. That's all it is.

They always show programms like this just before they announce another ill thought out benefits cutting idea.

It's all bollocks and edited to show the worse, not the average or the good.

If you really believe any of it, then you are a bigger idiot than those protrayed on these shit programmes.

Farrowandbawl · 06/01/2014 22:19

*portrayed

DownstairsMixUp · 06/01/2014 22:22

Please do us all a favour and never watch these programmes ever. People are frothing all over place on twitter. Just read this delightful tweet: Benefits street. Wish I could blow the lot up, scruffy low life's. Cut the benefit system altogether

LedareAnsley · 06/01/2014 22:23

Grin at Farrow and Doin.

exexpat · 06/01/2014 22:25

They lied to the participants about what the programme was going to be about, and it sounds like they have been doing some very creative editing : Birmingham Mail story here. Don't take everything you see on TV at face value.

theywillgrowup · 06/01/2014 22:27

yep people do put fags and drink before their children,it happens but thats not just a minority on benefits its happens across the board

BuffyxSummers · 06/01/2014 22:28

I can't believe people just lap these programmes up.

ilovesooty · 06/01/2014 22:29

Oh dear, might I suggest a GCSE in Media Studies?

I've got friends who fucking teach English/Media who've seemingly fallen hook line and sinker for this bollocks. Angry

DownstairsMixUp · 06/01/2014 22:30

Yep theywillgrowup I just spent my working tax credits on a crate of vodka. Hmm

Farrowandbawl · 06/01/2014 22:31

These are the same people who have no imagination or stop to think for five miserable little minutes - that hang on...it's edited....

They probably believe the shite that is the current healthy low fat and low sugar alternatives advert.

TeamSouthfields · 06/01/2014 22:32

I haven't fallen hook line and sinker...

It's just called conversation!

OP posts:
theywillgrowup · 06/01/2014 22:33

people do live like this, the minority granted but it goes on

PleaseLetsGoToSleep · 06/01/2014 22:33

I'm watching it on 4OD, I think I'll stop though. Hateful programme

Farrowandbawl · 06/01/2014 22:34

It's called bollocks and goady, not conversation.

ilovesooty · 06/01/2014 22:34

I haven't fallen hook line and sinker...

I wasn't talking about you.

GlitzAndGiggles · 06/01/2014 22:34

Reminded me of where I grew up, alcoholics sat on sofas outside their house lol. But shows like this are always mega edited

DownstairsMixUp · 06/01/2014 22:34

I didn't need to watch the programme, my facebook is full of ignorant comments to let me know it was shit.

Joules68 · 06/01/2014 22:35

Yes it's edited

But why did they leave some of the 'good' stuff in if they had an agenda? I mean, why not just show all the bad stuff instead of trying to balance it out?

BuffyxSummers · 06/01/2014 22:35

For that exact reason joules

JohnCusacksWife · 06/01/2014 22:36

I completely agree that you shouldn't take things at face value and I'm sure this programme has been edited for effect but surely it's extremely naive and blinkered to take the view that all the people featured on this programme are fine upstanding citizens who are genuinely looking for work and to contribute to society...

BuffyxSummers · 06/01/2014 22:36

I mean, they can't possibly have an agenda if there's good bits so the bad bits must be real!

Farrowandbawl · 06/01/2014 22:36

Because even the most simplest of idiots can see that the programme has to look as though it's at least trying to be impartial and balanced even if it's blindingly, punch you in the face, obvious it isn't

Joules68 · 06/01/2014 22:38

So the good stuff such as 'white dee' helping someone with their benefit letters was made up/edited/shit too?
