I've got 3 bottles downstairs that I haven't started yet

ItsAWonderfulCervix · 30/12/2013 18:56

Slow?

Sloe. I thunk.

OP posts:
paxtecum · 30/12/2013 18:57

Sloe gin is probably 40% proof.

It is neat gin with fruit and sugar added.

Climbingthewalls12 · 30/12/2013 18:57

I make that each Christmas and its lethal! YANBU she's got it in for you Grin

ineedanexcuse · 30/12/2013 18:57

Must be Christmas .A drunk thread at 18:55 on a Monday Xmas Grin

Made me Lol anyway.

EmmaBemma · 30/12/2013 18:59

yes! My mum made me some of this last year, it is indeed lethal. I think it's deceptive because it tastes so nice, unlike most strongly alcoholic drinks.

Trills · 30/12/2013 19:00

:o

Is it gin that makes you slow?

ItsAWonderfulCervix · 30/12/2013 19:01

I had some on chustmas day but was already pissed oncava so didn't quite realise the potency.

OP posts:
Climbingthewalls12 · 30/12/2013 19:02

No gin made with sloe berries x

ItsAWonderfulCervix · 30/12/2013 19:04

Gosh it is a bit early isn't it. I thought i'd have like a wee post muddy walk tipple.

What to drink for the rest of the evening?

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 30/12/2013 19:06

If you drink the rest of the sloe gin you will miss New Years entirely Grin

namechange74 · 30/12/2013 19:07

ooh i've got a bottle of that in the fridge that someone made me about a year ago - will it still be ok? (i've not opened it)

BigWellyLittleWelly · 30/12/2013 19:09

Its absolutely lethal stuff. I used to homebrew a cider nicknamed rocket fuel and that had nothing on the sloe gin we made.

We made about 3 litres pre DC, we still have over half left - sloe gin cocktails are something you learn about the hard hard way and neither of us will go near it now. Friends have it for their Christmas present year on year by request!

Caitlin17 · 30/12/2013 19:10

It's either vile or surprisingly nice and never seems to look, taste or have the same consistency from one bottle to the next.

ItsAWonderfulCervix · 30/12/2013 19:11

Perhaps just a smidgen more..........

OP posts:
happytalk13 · 30/12/2013 19:12

Enjoy, OP!

Xmas Grin
RenterNomad · 30/12/2013 19:13

Forty per cent.

Eighty proof.

The latter sounds better, doesn't it?!

InTheRedCorner · 30/12/2013 19:15

Early night or messy night. You have the potential for both Grin

HOMEQCRICH · 30/12/2013 19:15

My dad gave me some raspberry wine one year.. we started at around 7pm drinking 2 bottles between 4 of us and game over by 9pm!

Trumpton · 30/12/2013 19:15

Oh my word. I made raspberry gin , autumn vodka, Christmas vodka, blackberry gin and pear drop vodka this year.
Christmas vodka and a bit of lemonade was my favourite but also prosecco and raspberry gin was fab.

But ,yes, just a bit dangerous !

HOMEQCRICH · 30/12/2013 19:16

Ps if its too early you are in company!

ItsAWonderfulCervix · 30/12/2013 19:18

I'm watching pop's greatest dance crazes and joining in. Xmas Grin

OP posts:
drudgewithagrudge · 30/12/2013 19:18

I was given some homemade sloe gin and blackberry brandy and I have been too nervous to try them.

mumtosome61 · 30/12/2013 19:20

I made the mistake of having my first alcoholic drink in four months and choosing sole gin that my friend had made.

I slept for 12 hours.

MsPickle · 30/12/2013 19:23

Assuming you don't have to get up tomorrow next two days try a slow gin and champagne/sparkling wine cocktail.

Delicious but lethal.
