I would quite like someone to try to kill me this way... Grin

Rockingthestocking · 30/12/2013 19:38

I tried slider for the first time. Home brew cider which has had the slow berries from the slow gin sat in it. Lethal and only half a pint and I was a gonna! Still...it cured the insomnia bout I had been going through so feel on top of the world this week! See....these drinks do have a 'medicinal use '!

RalphGnu · 30/12/2013 19:39

Yesssss! This thread has just reminded me I have half a bottle of gin in the freezer.

KatyMac · 30/12/2013 19:43

I have some plum gin I made before DD was born

She is 16 - I have about 4 bottles

Whatisaweekend · 30/12/2013 19:44

Try a sloegasm (sloe gin and champagne). You can't remember your own name for days after that!

Whatisaweekend · 30/12/2013 19:46

X post MsPickle. Drunk great minds think alike!!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/12/2013 19:46

I struggle remember my own name at the best of times - I'd best avoid the sloe gin!

CrispyHedgeHogmanay · 30/12/2013 19:48

You lot have made me want sloe gin now and I have none and don't know anyone who makes it :(

Can you buy it?

poisonedbypen · 30/12/2013 19:51

Yes, made by Gordon's

russianmule · 30/12/2013 19:52

Oh bugger it's too late for sloes isn't it. I found a heaving bush a few years ago and picked for friends and family but forgot this year.

Kveta · 30/12/2013 19:52

god, we have loads of sloe gin, blackberry vodka, christmas pudding vodka, and damson gin in the house, and nobody to drink it! I can't drink much at all these days, and DH won't drink alone, so we just have the stuff lying around waiting for us to find someone to consume it! anyone in east herts who wants some, let me know!!

RalphGnu · 30/12/2013 19:54

I've just mixed a big spoon of ginger jam in with my g&t and it is heaven.

I've never tried sloe gin; what kind of flavour does it give?

ToffeeOwnsTheSausage · 30/12/2013 19:54

I am a very bad person. I am disappointed it isn't an actual trying to kill you thread BlushGrin.

HappTeeNewYear · 30/12/2013 19:55

Just don't come over to JanetandRoy's thread tomorrow.

You'll regret it...

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 30/12/2013 19:55

Kveta I would be happy to take the lot off your hands.

CrispyHedgeHogmanay · 30/12/2013 19:56

Kveta, if you need help with that stuff I'm not too far away ;)

ExcuseTypos · 30/12/2013 19:56

We make it every year. This year I had to climb a tree to get at the buggers. Grin

It's my favourite drink. You can also make cocktails with it- cava or some other fizz with sloe gin is amazing.

crispy you can buy it, but it's not quite as lethal strong as homemade. So you'll need twice as much!

CrispyHedgeHogmanay · 30/12/2013 19:56

and thanks, I'll have a look for Gordon's sloe tomorrow :o

Kveta · 30/12/2013 19:57

seriously, if you're near me, then PM me, would be happy to empty the cupboard (possibly in exchange for biscuits :o)

CrispyHedgeHogmanay · 30/12/2013 19:57

That's what I was just wondering typos.. I've only ever had home made before

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 30/12/2013 19:58

I'll come to you...! And I will bring many many biscuits.

Kveta · 30/12/2013 19:58

our local park has tonnes of sloe/damson hybrid trees, and blackberry bushes - it has taken me 3 years to not go completely mad stripping the plants of their berries, because there is no bloody point in our tee-total house!

Varya · 30/12/2013 20:00

At last! A cure for insomnia.

catwithflowers · 30/12/2013 20:00

I thought this was an Agatha Christie type thread and you were really in fear for your life! Enjoy Xmas Grin

CrispyHedgeHogmanay · 30/12/2013 20:01
