To think that being a cat lover and a dog lover is not mutually exclusive?

And not fall into dog or cat camp? It just seems that most people who love dogs hate cats and vice versa. For me it is like this....I love dogs but we have a cat as it is just easier and cheaper. Love all my friends dogs though. Merry Christmas everyone!

DB has two dogs and a cat and seems to like animals in general. I don't really like dogs and wouldn't want to own one but I have a cat.

I'm a dog person and a cat person. DP is a dog person but most definitely not a cat person. We have two cats due to us both working but would love to have dogs. It was DP's idea to get 'a kitten'. Apparently, he thought it might be more dog-like Xmas Confused

I like both, definitely have a preference for cats though - have two of the creatures!

I will possibly get a dog in the future (love Boston Terriers and Greyhounds) , but I think they're quite needy animals who need a lot more attention than I could give them right now or for the foreseeable.

I love cats, always have, but I like dogs too. I don't get why it has to be one or the other.

Yanbu! I love both. I've never had a dog though and do fear the poo.... But dogs are so cute and interactive, how can you not love them?

love both - dogs 51% and cats 49% but yes love dogs AND cats - grew up with two dogs and four cats - just dog at the moment as he is a greyhound.

I like both really but since my greyhound would eat a cat in a heartbeat and my husband has a severe cat allergy I'm thinking a feline would be out of the question.
A cat or dog needs the right character, I've known some bastard cats and annoying dogs. Equally some lovely specimens of both species!

I like both too. Can't have a cat as my dog is a cat hater and i am near a big road, but yes both nice. My mum has a cat and 2 dogs which are all good friends and really cute together, the cat comes along when the dogs get walked.

I like most cats & dislike most dogs. We had both for a while when I was a child but mostly just cats. The dog we had (Cairn Terrier) was a nasty little thing.

Have a dog and a cat. Adore them both. They are adored by everyone in the family and both will have a visit off Santa.

They will both have a bowl of turkey and a bit of a topside joint. Why the heck not. I love them.

I love any animal.

I am 100% a cat person, but I don't exactly hate all dogs.
I hate little dogs - they terrify me, everything smaller than a labrador that I've ever met has been horrible and vicious - but I'm okay with big ones. Wouldn't ever own one, though!

Cats, though. I love getting snuggles from my tiny kitty, and hopefully she's getting a friend in the new year!

I absolutely adore cats.

Dogs are just Hmm To much effort involved!! The thought of having to get up on a cold, wet morning to take the dog for a toilet trip...
No thank you!!

I don't hate dogs but I don't particularly think they are anything special.
Quite annoying at times actually......

Getting up on a cold, wet and dark morning to walk a dog is now seen as wonderful by me. Love it. I will be doing it tomorrow at 8am. We walk for an hour.

Since having our dog and walking him every single day I have never been ill. I swear it's the fresh air every day. It clears your head and I have met some wonderful people on our walks.

He has brought only positive things to my life.

Getting up on a cold wet morning to walk dog and bring said dog back home all wet and 'wet dog' smelling.

Or

Snuggle in bed with big furry cat purring like a train, and falling back to sleep.

Grin Maybe I am just lazy.
