Drink driving ( google not helping)

I am wondering how much wine I can have to stay in the safe limit.

Normally if I am driving the next day I don't touch wine at all, but will I be legal if I have 2 small glasses of wine with my dinner tomorrow ( I will not be driving until the morning)

Either way I don't mind.

I've been looking at the calculator thread.

Am astonished! Pretended that I had 4 vodkas starting at midday and then wanted to drive at 9pm and I'd be absolutely legal according to the site.

In fact, just looking and would be OK on 750ml of wine.

Now, I'm pretty sure my judgement would be impaired if I drank that amount of wine over even such a long period.

Going to have my wine, it's shop bought which is against my traditions normal raid my dad's wine shed but that stuff is very strong.

My dads wine had a party of four vomiting in turn and the squits for most of the next day.. I have declined his 'home brew' ever since

Ok, on the trains we have to have 0% blood alcohol when we book on for duty.

The guidelines for this state NO alcohol less than 8 hours before booking on and no more than 7 units in the previous 24 hours.

Two glasses of wine at lunch will be fine to drive the next morning.

My scientist friend says it takes 1 hour per unit to clear the system plus one additional hour.

12 hours between bottle and throttle is my general rule of thumb (As long as you haven't drunk a whole bottle of vodka or anything like that.)

If you're driving at 6am, stop drinking by 6pm, have some water, eat and sleep and you'll be fine.

ImperialBlether · 28/12/2013 14:48

So you could never have a drink on a week night if you're driving to work the next morning, Wilson?

That's just ridiculous!

ImperialBlether · 28/12/2013 14:49

You need to leave 12 hours if you have drunk 12 units, maybe, but the OP was talking about 2 glasses of wine!
