Ok. I'll go first (We are a bit skint this year because we have just sold our house so all our £££ is being saved for the deposit on our next home, so we've had to be careful)

We split our shop between two big supermarkets so we can use our reward points/vouchers accumulated through the year.

Total Bill: 124.98
Total vouchers:35.64

Actual cash total: £89.34

This is for all food, snacks, booze, soft drinks, crackers , table cloth etc. For 2 adults, 3dcs under 10. Should last until boxing day.

Is this average/Scrooge/OTT in comparison to yours?

£239

For everything.

Not a great deal ..... Maybe £60 on some crackers, mince pies, yule log, christmas cake, Christmas pudding, chocolate cake and x3 types of cream going to my sisters

I just popped into M&S food store near me and bought 5 x fancy cakes from the cake counter, all reduced to 50p for the lot of them. The shop assistant said they would only throw them out otherwise. They were also in the process of reducing their turkeys from £45 to £18 and they was a big group of people surrounding them ready to pounce. You can get a lot of bargains if you shop late in the evening when food is reduced.

About £180 but thats for christmas lunch and general food shopping for 2-3 weeks. Only the three of us for lunch tomorrow so having roast lunch and lovely cake for after. We dont drink though which makes a huge difference.

About £220 in Waitrose and £70 on beef in M&S, £20 fish from the market, £40 Spanish cheese and meats - that's not counting the booze and only for 4..... I expect this to last us for almost a couple of weeks.

Inglori0us · 24/12/2013 20:56

We spent £100 in Tesco, but had £30 vouchers, and then £100 in Waitrose and had £40 vouchers. Also guests are bringing the deserts, crackers, cheese and a ham.
We have 11 adults and 1 toddler to feed.

Tonight DH managed to Nab, a £5 turkey.

A waitrose essentials, 25 down to 11, we got for a fiver...this will be boxing day meal, as I like it cold in sandwiches.

I am glad I didnt buy the ham I was going to do.

Tomorow, rib of beef, £11 less than half price....another waitrose bargin got in sept.

Morloth · 24/12/2013 22:11

About AUD $450 (£250ish).
