Wear your leopard print with pride and tell your mate to fucking do one

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/12/2013 00:36

Tell her to fuck off.

WorraLiberty · 22/12/2013 00:37

I think it depends on the outfit really.

There's leopard print and then there's Bet Lynch print Xmas Grin

How much were you wearing ?

'cos its important to know what kind of look you were going for...

3lovelykids · 22/12/2013 00:41

Leopard print blouse with black vest underneath, black skinny jeans and beige heels ! My teenage kids said I looked really nice. Obviously I don't want to go out looking like a twat! Wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have a girly blouse on!!! Was so mad grrr ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

That sounds fine! Very similar to an outfit I wear.

What you need to do now op is hot foot it to Dune and purchase a pair of the fabulous leopard print chelsea boots (I'm having them for Christmas) and then wear them every single time you see your "mate".

I'm 25, have had an enduring love for leopard print for about 20 years. It'll feature in my wardrobe until the day I die. Everyone else can fuck off.

3lovelykids · 22/12/2013 00:57

If I was dressing too young then I would seriously want to know but I really don't think I was !!! Hmm

HoHolepew · 22/12/2013 01:03

She was jealous.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/12/2013 01:03

Op - you outfit sounds perfectly nice.

You were not dressed too young. You just weren't.

The "after a certain age you wear dowdy clothes" thing doesn't exist anymore. If it does, someone needs to have a chat with Kate Moss.

Your "mate" was being snide.

I've had people tell me they'd never wear leopard print because it looks tacky, whilst I am wearing something leopard print.

I've decided these people are boring and would probably prefer everybody wore shades of beige.

trufflesnuffler · 22/12/2013 01:04

Next time you see your 'mate', inform her you can smell her minge. Tell her you often can but didn't want to be rude but as a good friend you feel you should.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/12/2013 01:04

LOL (I know MN doesn't like lol but whatever) @ truffle

Mabelface · 22/12/2013 01:08

Everyone knows that leopard print is a neutral.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/12/2013 01:43

You're right squoosh leopard print and stripes essentially function as neutrals in my wardrobe.

3lovelykids · 22/12/2013 01:56

Could have understood if it was major ott but it so wasn't ! I've got long dark hair and wear neutral make up so I'm hardly a dolly bird ! Confused

MammaTJ · 22/12/2013 06:53

She was jealous because you looked so good.

Teenagers are not known for tact, so if they said you loooked good, you did.

Tulip26 · 22/12/2013 06:59

Are you blonde? I'm very blonde and try to avoid leopard print as it makes me look like a barmaid...

Hohohowhatfuckeryitis · 22/12/2013 07:16

Good enough for the Guardian's all ages fashion spread this week,so tell her to fo.
And Truffle, Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/12/2013 07:18

Sounds a lovely outfit - I'd wear it. But I do love a bit of leopard, its my inner Bet/Liz Macdonald.

baskingseals · 22/12/2013 07:21

I used to have a pair of slightly furry leopard print pumps. Those were the days.
I am a year older than you, I have recently bought a jade leopard print vest top, as an hommage to my younger self. Wear your leopard print with pride.

Scarletohello · 22/12/2013 07:21

I'm blonde with huge boobs so need to be careful to not do the Bet Lynch thing. My ex gave me some leopard print leggings. Think I wd look a bit cheap in them.

Do love a bit of leopard tho and I think your mate was a cow!

BunnyLebowski · 22/12/2013 07:38

Your outfit was fabulous! Your frenemy was being a megabitch Angry .

I've just checked and I have 15+ leopard print items in my wardrobe and I always look bloody gorgeous Grin.

mumofweeboys · 22/12/2013 09:59

I think it depends on the leopard print item. Shiny, lycra then I'd say no way but a nice subtle sheer ish blouse/top then that's a different story.

Your outfit sounds nice
