DSis is hosting Christmas this year

She is wonderful person (and great cook) put totally disorganised and last minute

She still hasn't ordered a turkey and when I mentioned it to her tonight said "Oh I'll get round to it. It will be fine"

THEN she said "I might get a boned and rolled joint. No one eats the legs"

You can't have a joint for Christmas. You need to see the bird in all it's glory looking amazing. It's part of Christmas

She'll be saying she isn't doing pigs in blankets or Yorkshire puds next

Shock

I'm not overly keen on the sausages wrapped in bacon either,

And I hate sprouts.

tinselkitty · 15/12/2013 20:22

We've never done turkey or chicken for Christmas. It's still felt like Christmas every time

LaurieFairyCake · 15/12/2013 20:23

You are I think

You don't have Yorkshire puddings with Christmas dinner

And for the first time ever we're having a rolled joint - no one ever saw the turkey anyway as I did the meat part in the kitchen

CustardOmlet · 15/12/2013 20:24

I hate turkey, and since my DP's and work have ruined my chance of cooking Christmas dinner this year, I have demanded DP's do me lamb. I'm such a child as Christmas, DS has a lot to learn from me!

FunnyFestiveTableRunner · 15/12/2013 20:27

another one who thinks it isn't Christmas dinner without a whole turkey.

I'm irish and we don't have pigs in blankets (I think these are sausages wrapped in rashers???) we have ham with our dinner.

so it isn't Christmas dinner without a whole turkey AND a whole ham.

maryz - surely the cocktail sausages are an addition to the turkey and ham????!

catgirl1976 · 15/12/2013 20:44

I take it all back

I have no problems compared to that :(

YABU. You can get pissed and relax and let DSIS worry about the meal. Turkey crown will be fine. Or can't you let go? Grin Out of interest, who is older?
(And obv YPs are wrong with turkey)

MammaTJ · 15/12/2013 20:54

Turkey crown all the way for me! A lot easier and so tasty!

YABU! If you have enough to drink you won't care by lunchtime! Grin

I'm going to sil. same as last year. dh working nights so will call for a bit and collect his plated up xmas dinner to take with him. {same as last year}
I don't care what she cooks or how she cooks it. I cannot bear cooking for loads of fussy and ungrateful family members so she is welcome do it how she wants.. I will eat it and hope dd4.2 eats something and then relax in the knowledge that it was stress free, x

Pancakeflipper · 15/12/2013 21:25
