AIBU?

AIBU to have a poo in the evening?

Loftyjen · 08/12/2013 23:47

DH claims poo'ing in the evening (after 10pm) is abnormal & that it is weird and IBU to do it.
tbh, I poo when I have time/am able to & with a 3 yo & 3 wo this is most often when he's around, but I don't deliberately hang on until the evening.

He claims that most people are like him & will hold into it rather than poo in the evening - according to him, all poo'ing should be done in the morning (ideally mid-morning going by his w/e habits) & that variation in the time of day that I go is weird & I should just hold on & go in the morning (like him).

Please reassure me that he's the weird one who's BU Wink

The real question is this. Does a man with a defecation schedule also require a bedside penis beaker?

I poo when I want to. Thing is, 99 times out of a hundred (at least) that is first thing in the morning when I get out of bed. This seems to be the case even when I travel - my bowel does not get jet lag. 'Tis very convenient.

Loving all the 'poo when you want to' posts.

Makes me think that they should be on a fridge magnet or some inspirational kitchen sign.

Poo like no one is watching.
Fart like no one is listening....

Power to the poo.

I have what someone once referred to as "campers' clamper".

I can only poo in my own home, hotel rooms and John Lewis. If I go camping I won't have a shit for a week. Not a case of holding it in, just don't get the urge. At the other end of the scale whenever I walk in John Lewis I need a poo within minutes.

John Lewis quite often makes me need a poo for some reason. But not as much as libraries. Must be the action of standing and looking at things.

The library phenomenon is very common (according to MN threads anyway!)

But for me, it's TK Maxx wot does it

Funny thread! I usually do a poo in the morning. Sometimes I will do one in the evening. Very very rarely will I have one during the day. I don't know why that is, although I don't like pooing in strange loos!

I have no idea about DH's poo habits and I doubt he cares much for mine.

YY to libraries - they make me want to poo too!

Something about browsing books gets me going every time.

DuckToWater · 09/12/2013 22:08

Yes - card shops too! Browsing, that's what does it.

There is no right or wrong time of day to take a dump. For me, when I have to go, I just have to go. No two ways about it, there isn't the luxury of choice or sticking to a schedule.

I am very prone to IB too and it doesn't work to a timetable.

Another poo-at-will person here. Not read the entire thread, but my theory on my random poos vs DH poo standardisation is simple biology. We sit down to wee so it's always worth having a 'try' and indeed probably sets your bum a-thinking it could be poo time. Standing up to piss simply doesn't have the same effect. They are therefore more likely to wait till it's full in there and for that to settle into some kind of routine.

I am not a scientist, but it makes sense to me. Power to the poo!

Best thread ever!

I'm usually a morning pooer. So is DS, which is irritating when we are both trying to get ready for work/school. However, as vegetarians one poo a day is rarely enough so the rest of the day is a free-for-all. DS is particularly fond of pooing on trains. God knows why. Hmm

There is no right or wrong time of day to take a dump.

Though there is, apparently, a right and wrong way to do a dump. I have a leaflet from our surgery with an illustration of the position you should adopt, and a number of bullet points. (P.S. DH does it wrong Grin)
