AIBU to have a poo in the evening?

Loftyjen · 08/12/2013 23:47

DH claims poo'ing in the evening (after 10pm) is abnormal & that it is weird and IBU to do it.
tbh, I poo when I have time/am able to & with a 3 yo & 3 wo this is most often when he's around, but I don't deliberately hang on until the evening.

He claims that most people are like him & will hold into it rather than poo in the evening - according to him, all poo'ing should be done in the morning (ideally mid-morning going by his w/e habits) & that variation in the time of day that I go is weird & I should just hold on & go in the morning (like him).

Please reassure me that he's the weird one who's BU Wink

I just can't stop laughing and suppressing it so I don't wake the baby is so hard, I might poo myself

Flibbertyjibbet · 09/12/2013 15:09

Funny how the ones with clockwork bowels tell the rest of us that we should go at the same time every day....

you're either clockwork or you're not. I'm not!! Some days I go, sometimes I don't. Some days its early before breakfast, some days late evening. No rhyme or reason.

The thought of somehow making your body poop when there is nothing poopable yet, is bizarre!

EssentialCoffee · 09/12/2013 15:13

I go when I need to, I'd love to have a set time to go in the morning but unfortunately my bowels won't comply!

I've had to just get over being embarrassed and if I need to go for a poo at work, I just go. It's not good to hold it in, you just get a tummy ache!

AllDirections · 09/12/2013 15:14

And this is why I'm single, I will not have anyone trying to tell me when I can or can't poo Hmm

Poo when you need to, sleep when you're tired, drink when you're thirsty, eat when you're hungry. LTB when you've had enough.

Exactly!

AchyFox · 09/12/2013 15:18

I was about to ask "How big is your breakfast ?"

But then I read bogeyface.Grin

CalamitouslyWrong · 09/12/2013 15:25

It's well seen that the naked pooer was never interrupted by small children while in the bathroom. I bet his wife couldn't say the same thing.

PuppyMonkey · 09/12/2013 15:25

I poo wherever and whenever I get the urge. I do recall I worked in a small office once and for some reason whenever I went to the small toilet cubicle shared by all of us (about 5 staff) I just ALWAYS ended up pooing in it - three or four times a day sometimes. It had magical bowel moving powers, that toilet. Grin

Whereisegg · 09/12/2013 15:33

I read a vv strange thread on here where people said that they stood up to wipe after pooing Shock

ipswichwitch · 09/12/2013 15:44

poo schedule??????? I've heard it all now!
DH's complete inability to leave the house is down to his mothers insistence on going to the toilet and "producing something" before every outing when he was a child. He suffers from anxiety (wonder why?!?) and this causes him loads of bother if he can't go before we leave the house.

I'm actually almost glad I have IBS - I go when I need to and don't have ishoos about it - whether it be 10am or 10pm. And it's bad to hold it in.

Blatherskite · 09/12/2013 15:50

"My husband always insists every poo habit he has..." AnnieJanuary! How many does he have?

ActionA · 09/12/2013 15:54

It's grim enough to have endless threads about the toilet habits of DCs, but to be expected on this sort of website. Could do without reading about the toilet habits of adults as well though.

Xenadog · 09/12/2013 15:54

If you need to do a dump then do one!

I have IBS so sometimes have a regular pattern - as soon as I get up, walk the dog and then go again when I'm home or I might be very irregular and go three or four times throughout the day.

Whatever ever works for you is normal - I would say your DH is a bit of a nutter to think you shouldn't go if you need to. Incidentally my DP goes every morning (at least once) and every evening as we go to bed. I know his ahem, "routine" better than my own!

CaptainTripps · 09/12/2013 15:59

To paraphrase trills, it is never unreasonable to poo when you need to poo.

It is highly unreasonable to tell someone else they need to stick to a schedule.

Stupid man.

ouryve · 09/12/2013 16:01

How the hell does he manage to sleep properly if he's holding one in all night?

Weird bloke.

LEMisafucker · 09/12/2013 16:10

I bet he NEVER goes in a book shop!

PaulSmenis · 09/12/2013 16:20

Op, your DH sounds odd. I didn't realise there was a 'proper' time of day to have a poo.

I go 3 to 5 times a day and DP says it's not normal. He sometimes goes 2 days without pooing though, so who's actually the weird one!

smearedinfood · 09/12/2013 16:25

I think it's because he wants to brush his teeth at about the time OP needs to poo. He could brush his teeth in the kitchen if he doesn't want to gag.

ZingSweetPea · 09/12/2013 16:28

well toothbrushing doesn't quite warranty the same sort of urgency as a poo that is already saying hello to your knickers!Grin

YoDiggity · 09/12/2013 16:32

I tend to go in the morning but not first thing, usually a while after my coffee and any breakfast has worked its way though. Occasionally I go at other times of day but not often.

Sometimes I have lain awake for hours unable to sleep, can't think why, and then suddenly I've needed a poo. Once that's done I can sleep like a baby. Confused

Weird how my body knows 2 hours in advance of telling my brain that I need a dump. Hmm

Jinglebellsforthebetter · 09/12/2013 16:54

WTAF? Shock

Evening pools are forbidden???

YANBU and he is BU and weird - doesn't he get, ahem, whiffy? Grin

Glitterfeet · 09/12/2013 18:20

Why would he think that most people would hold to in? What a strange idea. Some people are regular, some aren't but I can see no benefit to holding it in when you're at home Confused

I will admit to being a morning dumper, if my morning routine goes badly wrong my body isn't happy. There are other days when I go wild and have an evening one! depending on what I've eaten.

SpottyDottie · 09/12/2013 18:48

I wish I could poo I've eaten my body weight in grub last 7 days and barely an angelhair spaghetti had passed my chocolate-box. It's very distressing.

Sorry trufflesnuffler but that did make me poo Grin

QueenofallIsee · 09/12/2013 18:54

my dh poos as though it is recreational.. bit bored? a poo is what I will do...odd man.

I am another irregular pooer.

Also, I can poo anywhere - home, other peoples' loos, train loos, plane loos - if it's time to go, it's time to go. Is this a special skill?! proud Grin
