Just that really. My dd has come home singing one direction songs today she says they have all been singing at lunch. Should I be making more if an effort with more grown up things for her. I'm not really a 1D super fan but I don't want her feeling left out at school in coming years. Is there anything else I'm missing !? X

Yes mine likes Harry... [worried]

She's too young to be listening to lyrics of 90s R&B that I like.. [stuck in my yoof]

This thread goes to show that no matter how un-pop your radio station (Classic FM here) nor how unsophisticated your telly (CBeebies), The Pop Machine will still find its way into their brains...

No thank goodness, but then we don't watch X factor or listen to commercial radio really, she mostly watches cbeebies or I player and is not allowed access to YouTube or anything she might see them on. DP is an old codger and mostly plays oasis or the eagles so she knows some of their stuff plus some Adele. Can't control what happens at school though! Sure she will have the peer influence sooner or later.

Ds is 6 and doesn't know One Direction, but I went to a friends house and her dd just had her 6th birthday and had a one direction balloon up.

Taking my class (year 5) swimming on Thursday was interesting, they sang songs on the way there-Katy Perry, One Direction, top 50 stuff. Yes, they knew all the words! A large proportion of a class of 30 murdering 'roar' amused me greatly! Mind you, they also sang our performance songs and jingle bells! And yes, they do have 1D stationery, not as many as lays year though.

GigiDarcy · 08/12/2013 09:33

Top 40

Yep, I have radio 1 on alot so she heard it, let her listen on Spotify plus friends/school.

She is aware of lots of Music though as we always have some playing, go to festivals and outside gigs etc

My 5 yo is blissfully unaware thank god. Mind you, so am I pretty much. I saw a bus go past the other day with a poster of them on the side and I was amazed that this bunch of average looking young men we're causing all this fuss.

There's advantages to getting older you know.
