Creighton

I'm not defending anyone, but you are the one who has posted that it ok to kill children if they are white South Africans.

I'm sure Mandela would be proud to know that some of those who are sad at his passing and calling him great, compassionate etc. are unable to support him in forgiveness.

BoneyBackJefferson · 07/12/2013 23:11

you do know that it was a De Klerk that was jointly awarded the noble peace prize along side NM?

creighton · 07/12/2013 23:15

Boney, get over yourself! you know full well that if violence hadn't been offered to the white south Africans, the old regime would still be in place with black children being gunned down by the racists, being denied good schooling, healthcare and job opportunities and whites from Europe going to live there to exploit them.
why do you think that I should worship white children when they will inevitably become part of the problem?

creighton · 07/12/2013 23:16

of course I know that. he was given the job of saving white people's skins after the appalling way they acted towards the Africans.

"why do you think that I should worship white children when they will inevitably become part of the problem?"

I haven't said that you should.

You have made it plain that all in your opinion that all white south Africans (of the time) should be have been killed.

That many whites where anti-apartheid does not even register with you.

It is your generalisations that I have issues with. In your last post you have even moved from white south African to just white people and white children.

"get over yourself!"
What is there to get over? I am not supporting apartheid, I am not disrespecting Mandela. I am just asking you to explain your opinions.

tattyteddy · 07/12/2013 23:30

OP I shed a few tears yesterday at his passing too. I think he was one of the last inspirational leaders and was about in my lifetime. I'm sad there aren't more mandelas, gandhis and Martin Luther kings. I hope mandela's legacy will see 100s and 1000s of them fighting injustice all over the world.

creighton · 07/12/2013 23:34

I did not say that all white south Africans should be killed. I said that they are all a part of the problem. some people say that some were not, but the reality is that most were accepting of the apartheid system and enjoyed the benefits of it. the white south Africans indiscriminately hurt ALL of the Africans but you expect me to differentiate between older and younger white south Africans. please tell me why I should, why should I care about young white south Africans when their parents did not care about young black south Africans? what is so special about their babies/children?

"I care about young white south Africans when their parents did not care about young black south Africans? what is so special about their babies/children?"

Because fostering hate perpetuates the circle of violence.
Because its not healthy for you.
Because its not a good way to look at the world.
Because the sins of the parents are not the sins of the children.
and because cheesy as it is children are the future, demonise them now and we are back at perpetuating the hatred and violence.

chunderella, I said that most of them accepted the apartheid regime (see above).

I do not foster hate, I am just not interested in appeasing/befriending people who are a wilful danger to others, who teach their children to disrespect and hurt others. let the white south Africans make all the moves, they are in the wrong

I think it's self evident that most white south africans happily colluded with apartheid. They happily propped up a vile system, that now they are ashamed to admit to, so try to deflect by calling mandala a terrorist..

creighton · 08/12/2013 12:42

I made a generalisation to make my point, so what? the vast majority had no care for their 'fellow' south Africans. the whites did not count the Africans as a part of 'their' country. when gary player won the golf masters in the 1970s he won it on behalf of the 3 million south Africans i.e. only the whites. they used to have 2 entrants to the miss world competition as they couldn't countenance a black representing them, they sent a white woman and a black woman.

I don't have to show any care for white south Africans any more than they would show for me and mine

Creighton
"I made a generalisation to make my point, so what?"

It is incorrect, a falsehood, it rewrites history. If you wish to put forward half truths as truths then that is your prerogative.

creighton · 08/12/2013 13:03

so what?

creighton · 08/12/2013 13:05

don't make me the focus of this thread. the question is apartheid and the purveyors of it. concentrate on them.

Are you South african Boney?

creighton · 08/12/2013 13:40

the moral validity of what NM et al did is self evident. the only people who are required to eschew violence are oppressed groups. the oppressors are always allowed to keep their option on violence if they want to.
