In dds class and her teachers? Think there's about 30 all together.

Really fancy doing it. I can get the stuff from £1 shops.

D you think this would be daft? And what would you think if your child received it from another child?

Our school wouldn't allow it as it is a healthy eating school or something so no sweets are handed out on birthdays or anything. My kids couldn't eat it as marshmallows contain gelatine.

But if your school allow it and no children are vegetarian/jewish/muslim (for gelatine reasons) or have allergies then it could be ok

LEMisafucker · 03/12/2013 17:46

Blimey littleducks - theres healthy eating and theres sweet nazi! The school not you - obviously your chldren have specific dietry requirements, which is a different matter.

LEMisafucker · 03/12/2013 17:47

yes that is what DD said, she wants the blue wave - are they different somehow?

whois · 03/12/2013 17:50

Yeah seriously, who cares if the OP spends time on this. I think it's a nice thought and more exciting than a card. Get a grip people. People sound a little green tbh.

Also all this 'my child is severely allergic' stuff well you need to take some responsibility for making sure your Dc know what try can and can't eat! And have a stock of alternative treats or something at home if you are that way inclined. It's a token, whole class gift. Not an individually selected item so it's not going to be suitable for everyone. Get over it.

I wouldn't have thought instructions were needed (hot chocolate powder people!) but going from this thread clearly making up a cup of hot choc without instructions is beyond some people. Instructions printed onto paper and cut out will make nice labeled anyway.

I like them OP! My neighbour across the road does this exactly the same, but with little reindeer antlers attached to the top! Great idea!

lottiegarbanzo · 03/12/2013 18:04

Nice idea but we're veggie and standard marshmallows aren't, so if dd came home with it I'd either have to disappoint her or make a replacement version with veggie marshmallows.

Things like that will be an ongoing issue for us of course, our choice. Less so for people with religious diets or allergies.

If making a food item for a large group of people I'd always apply 'suitable for everyone' criteria, as far as possible.

Aupairtrouble · 03/12/2013 18:56

They are a great idea!! I think I'll do it for my ds class. What kind of bags do you use?

JoyeuxNoelHeadbands · 03/12/2013 19:24

Nice idea, think I might nick it

MollyBerry · 03/12/2013 19:53

You can also get White hot chocolate from any larger supermarket

It's a really nice idea. Fuck anyone who tells you otherwise. Grin

ISawStrattersKissingSantaClaus · 03/12/2013 20:21

Oh, that's a lovely idea. I wish the DDs were young enough to do that.

mistermakersgloopyglue · 04/12/2013 08:55

Threads like this just prove to me that people are weird.

It's a lovely idea Op.
