He is 4 and has been wearing tights during the winter since he was a baby because they dont to long johns in small ages and i was getting his older brother LJs and the tights were cheap in asda. They are plain black not pink and glittery.
A few weeks ago i was dressing him and asked him to grab himself some socks, he said "i want tights instead" so i started putting them on him when ds1 ( 8) shouted in "erm, X (their dad's partner) doesnt really like him wearing tights" i replied that if ds wanted to wear them then it wasnt really anyone's business and left it at that.
Dcs have come home from a weekend at their dad's and ds1 asks me "did you get ds2's tights in the girl aisle or the boy aisle?" I asked him if someone had been talking about ds2's tights and ds2 said that "daddy and X told me tights are for girlies" 
Is this really an issue? 
AFAIC they're an extra layer to keep him warm til he is big enough for LJs and he likes wearing them. He will be big enough for his brothers now outgrown LJs next year and still fits in the tights at the minute so why would i not put them on him? I honestly cant believe two adults would tell a child this about his clothes and try and make him feel wrong for wearing them. He is 4 fgs.
