I have a chocolate lab I genuinely love him like one of the family. He's a pain in the arse, a thief, farts like a bastard but oh those eyes. He's just a lovely big soppy dog and we are all happy to have him in our lives. He makes it better.

KittensoftPuppydog · 24/11/2013 09:32

My elderly staffie cross is in bed with me and dh at the moment. She's making little snory wuffly noises.
I love her so much I can't put it into words. She absolutely my best friend.
She makes every day more enjoyable. Her enthusiasm for life is very infectious.
She's a rescue. Best thing we ever did.

mrselgar · 24/11/2013 09:44

My little rescue dog is most definitely the best dog in the universe. She is a little rescue Westie. I adore her. She loves cuddles and sits on her back legs with paws in the air when she wants something. She's not keen on the outdoors and runs inside like a loon when she's 'been'. She doesn't like walks and hides behind a cushion when she hears the lead. The only exception to this is if she has on her new red coat. She does like a new coat. Having said that, she always has a little lie down during her walk. I love her to bits.

HotCrossPun · 24/11/2013 09:59

We have an old staffie. He is the most handsome, loyal, loving dog in the world. He is currently cuddled up on my knee underneath his favourite blanket Grin

LST · 24/11/2013 12:43

I have a 15mo mental border collie. He goes all cuddly and cute at night time though Grin

HenriettaMaria · 24/11/2013 12:46

Oh, how lovely - dog fans Smile And I agree that Cavaliers are amazing. I had a Blenheim for 14 years

and now a ruby.

She looks a bit scruffy there and I could pretend that is a one off. Unfortunately, she always looks scruffy Grin

BOF · 24/11/2013 13:26

Gorgeous Grin

waikikamookau · 24/11/2013 13:34

everybody loves her Grin

waikikamookau · 24/11/2013 13:35

she comes and sits on my lap in the evening - exhausted but happy

TheOriginalNutcracker · 24/11/2013 13:47

We've got a 12 week old staff x. Only got her last week from the dogs home, but she as settled in so well already.

She is so funny, especially when she has the hiccups or yawns.

I have said that she's not allowed upstairs, but I can't see me sticking to that tbh.

HenriettaMaria · 24/11/2013 13:53

Thanks, BOF. They are such appealing little dogs, aren't they?

waikikamookau Mine is 7 and I still call her a pup Smile

I have said that she's not allowed upstairs, but I can't see me sticking to that tbh. We lasted about a week, Nutcracker Blush

ddubsgirl · 24/11/2013 14:13

I love my dog hes a staffie cross and a bit daft so fits in well Grin he is as I type curled up on my sons lap when dh get up in the morning my dog jumps on bed for snuggles with me

Theodorous · 24/11/2013 14:23

I have a King Charles too, and I love all of my cat shit eating stinkers as much as anyone else. My old Lurcher went from rolling in badger shit in Cambridge to rolling in dead Racoons in Texas to rolling in dead things in India to rolling on dead dolphins in Qatar. Stinky old smellers and we love them all dearly

SoupDragon · 24/11/2013 14:40

You can keep your Cavaliers.. [[http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w0GEeGMAFkM/TsV9mvkrz3I/AAAAAAAAAOs/B9SOqmJ7UFM/s2048-no/IMAGE_6BB469D1-E0CF-491A-9567-D6C31BD9AF06.JPG Best Dog
Ever]]

Smelly, scatty, automatic hearing shut-off when nose is engaged but I do love him. Mostly.

HenriettaMaria · 24/11/2013 15:56

Well, I will keep my Cavalier, SoupDragon Grin but he is gorgeous.

Theodorous · 24/11/2013 15:59

Soup, love it

mrsjay · 24/11/2013 16:01

MIne is a collie cross I think a cross between 2 collies he is amazing we love him he has come through so much in his last home he is scared of a lot of things but really brave sometimes he is naughty though if he was human he would be one of those little boys who run round the playground with their jacket on his head Grin

Bowlersarm · 24/11/2013 16:01

Yep, a lot of loving for my dogs here. Labradors. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous.

mrsjay · 24/11/2013 16:03

(Bowlersarm* my uncle takes in guide dog puppies he got a new one last week and i saw her yesterday I may have rubbed her up and down my face she is adorable

Bowlersarm · 24/11/2013 16:06

mrsjay I've thought about volunteering to do that, but I just don't think I could bear to part with them when time's up! Does he get attached to them, or does he find it easy to let them go?

DearDinah · 24/11/2013 16:13

Dogs are just utterly amazing, how loyal & faithful they are to the very end, my house wouldn't be home without them.
11yo Springer spaniel & our newest addition, 3yo staffxEBTxrottie left in kennels for 2 years found as a stray, most loving, wonderful creature you could ever meet. We've no children, they are my children, but not in a weird way, I do know they are dogs!!

clpsmum · 24/11/2013 16:43

Can I join. I have two cavalier pups a black & tan boy and a ruby girl and they're just gorgeous
And I'm totally besotted

MartyrStewart · 24/11/2013 16:52

I have a black Lab and a GSD. We used to have a weimeraner - love my big dogs, saves on heating Grin

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 24/11/2013 16:56

BOF she is adorable. Is she fully grown? She looks tiny! DS and I would love a dog but I work part time so don't think it'd be fair to leave it alone for most of the day three days per week. It doesn't stop me longingly perusing the local RSPCA and Dogs Trust websites though.

mrsjay · 24/11/2013 17:16

was my aunt who started when she retired but uncle takes over most of it now they are in their 70s but sprightly anyway they do find it hard to let go but they know they are doing a good job and apparently after their 2nd they were going to give up they are on their 8th dog , new one is supposed to be their last they get updates on all their dogs and who the go with so find it rearding all their puppies have passed
