NC (not for this) but I'm long-standing MNer (Pom bear, naice ham...)

This might ruin the whole concept of AIBU but sometimes people pop up with opinions that I am shocked by, not because of what they are but just because they are so marginal. (SPs Cliff Richard obsession, for example?)

So, whilst encouraging you all to go forth and spread your weird and wonderful thoughts all over AIBU and elsewhere, what really unpopular opinions do you hold?

I have a couple of corkers, first one is that Kanye West however much of a knob he is actually is a genius.

I feel a need to throw this out there. I was raped when I was 18, it led to some very deep psychological trauma. After I became pregnant I could not bear to be touched by anyone. Despite this I tried to breastfeed and had help to try to get my baby to accept breast, he wouldn't. So people who think I am a crap parent - FUCK YOU. My child won't be a delinquent or criminal or underachiever based on how he was fed. Eejits.

lottieandmia · 21/11/2013 00:38

I don't like the Beatles.

DifferentNow · 21/11/2013 00:48

What does the tardis mean? Is it the same as a biscuit?

GeppaGip · 21/11/2013 00:52

Funny thread. Some opinions are just Shock Grin . I have no idea how people can have such strong views to the point they call others who neither agree nor comply idiots Grin I also have some unpopular opinions but wow.

My revelation is that I can't stand an old friends child. She is only 2.5 yo but i've felt this way since she was a baby Shock

IamChristmas · 21/11/2013 00:52

I still listen to East 17

Arkina · 21/11/2013 00:55

Buying presents for teachers at the end of term and Christmas is nonsense and totally un necessary

BeigeBuffet · 21/11/2013 01:05

I like feature walls and I have a few in my house

When health programmes try and compare the 'ugly' naughty foods and the colourful healthy food, I get a craving for pasties, chocolate and croissants (hence the name).

I hate cottage style, girly, face-mask, pampering style hen do's/weekends away.

I don't understand what people who don't have children and never want them in the future get from using mn?

BadgerBumBag · 21/11/2013 01:06

I hate James Martin... He had zombie eyes

Michael buble is a sleaze bag

Clashing stripes are a good clothing choice Shock

greengood · 21/11/2013 01:22

I quite like Peter Andre

Shall I ban myself now?

JudyJudgypants · 21/11/2013 01:34

1 Bungee jumping is stupid.
2 Most people are bad drivers.
3 FB is puerile.
4 Weddings are a form of insanity ( I'm going to make the most important commitment of my life, whilst dressed as an 18c milkmaid and surrounded by a crowd of people many of whom are only distantly related to me if at all, whilst shouting "Its my Big Day" and crying a lot, then climbing in to a pony and trap to go and eat cup cakes)

ilovesooty · 21/11/2013 02:11

The year should stop at the end of September and start again in January. October November and December are shit.

KalevalaForMePlease · 21/11/2013 03:48

I hate ensuites, you are basically just peeing and shitting in your bedroom. Vile.

KalevalaForMePlease · 21/11/2013 03:51

Oh, and I am also a teacher who does not believe in homework. Waste of time, for both the pupil and the teacher.

NotYoMomma · 21/11/2013 04:13

most people should not own dogs

they are horrible
and make rational people lose their minds

cloggal · 21/11/2013 04:26

worra

I didn't nc for this thread. Truly.
Have outed myself (I think) elsewhere which could be difficult on a couple of levels given subjects I was discussing elsewhere. I was feeling a bit shit and worried so I NC. Only started this thread after reading the Cliff Richard one and honestly did try to put the brake on.

(Should add that I'm not a serial NCer either, I was just a bit unsure about keeping the same name after a few recent things).

I hate everything about Christmas and would love to go to bed and not get up till its over.

LittleAprilShowers · 21/11/2013 05:38

Mrs Browns Boys is painfully unfunny

Xmas dinner (Turkey, sprouts, stuffing, the whole kaboodle) is rank

People should at least try to breastfeed (ducks for cover along with Chicksy)

I would rather employ a hard working immigrant than a lazy layabout Brit (not that I run a business lol and I don't actually think that all immigrants work hard and all Brits are lazy)

Grease, dirty dancing, beaches and anything under the 'chick flick' category are uniformally shite films (and grease in particular sends out a v bad message to women, basically saying slut up to get your boyfriend to stop being a prick)

Swearing is awesome

LittleAprilShowers · 21/11/2013 05:41

AdmiralData I just read your comment above (after I posted) I think in your case (and other similar) my above opinion does not apply, the BF comment is really for people who can (ie problem free) but won't

daisychain01 · 21/11/2013 05:49

Sharks are the most tragically misunderstood creatures it makes me want to weep salty tears sometimes. And when the crap press describe them as Killer Sharks I feel stabby

I'm not in any animal rights group just needed to say it

Unions are great IF they keep greedy bosses in check. They don't always but they do sometimes feather their own nests in the process.

Also I'm a bit thick I thought there was only one page of comments for some reason Confused so apologies if mine have been repeated! Realised another one:

I don't like bacon butties

FreckleyGirlAbroad · 21/11/2013 05:54

One of my closest friends would let her 2 year old daughter eat an adult size kebab on a regular basis and I thought it was so so so wrong and fit very judgey about it Angry

All stereotypes and gross generalisations are unhelpful. Every last one of them Grin

Onesies may be warm but they look sodding stupid on Pudsey Bear so I don't want to wear them. No wonder someone stabbed his eye out

daisychain01 · 21/11/2013 06:30

I don't mind dogs but slobber is vile

You don't have to be baptised in dog foam to like dogs
