Is an embarrassment to society. How can anyone be that thick?

OP posts:
Davsmum · 19/11/2013 16:28

He seems to be a really nice young man. That's what matters - not what he does and doesn't know!

mrsjay · 19/11/2013 16:30

Exactly Davsmum

Joysmum · 19/11/2013 16:33

I'd rather have a country full of Joey's than hard hearted self important 'clever' people.

He strikes me as being lovely guy who wouldn't hurt a fly. So sweet and with a childlike innocence, even if he is overly fixated by looks of others and himself which I don't like.

mrsjay · 19/11/2013 16:35

he is really shallow but all the people around him are Joysmum and he is going to be oggiling at the booby model all the time he is there, im a celeb is hardly a high brow programme is it Grin

Topseyt · 19/11/2013 17:00

I have nothing against him. He seems up for giving it all a go.

He may not be academic, but he certainly isn't daft.

Sparklingbrook · 19/11/2013 17:03

That's a good point Joys, there are loads more annoying supposedly intelligent people.

HorsesDogsNails · 19/11/2013 17:16

It made me laugh that the camp mate teaching him the time is Amy (former Miss Universe)..... Only Joey could make learning involve laying on his bed with a model GrinGrin!!

I think Joey is coming over well by just being Joey (another TOWIE) fan here! I had to explain salty potato to the rest of my lot as well, lol!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2013 17:38

joey is lovely and polite tho at time dappy Wink but he means well and has a huge heart

many people cant tell the time - he said ages ago in towie he couldnt /do simple maths (rem once in his shop he had difficulty doing change)

he has a thriving business and earns a good salary due to towie/adverts etc - not many 21 years can say that

yes his mum died when young :( and brought up by dad/frankie and chloe

hopefully at end of celeb miss uk would have taught him to tell the time :)

Joysmum · 19/11/2013 17:44

mrsjay I'm a Celeb isn't highbrow. I've never seen TOWIE but had heard about him.

My first introduction to him WAS on a highbrow programme, did you see him on Celebrity Juice? Hubby and I are both hooked by his harmless innocence Smile

Theodorous · 19/11/2013 17:46

He is my friend and I have a PHD. Lovely guy

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/11/2013 18:03

Bit mean op

He seems a nice bloke.

MrsDavidBowie · 19/11/2013 19:18

CAn any one tell me what he actually does, or did before he was on TOwIE?
I had never heard of him before I saw him on Celebrity the other night.

AlwaysInBed · 19/11/2013 19:35

I knew him a bit before TOWIE. I think he has SEN. Anyway, whether he does or not doesnt really matter- intelligence isn't the only valuable thing. He was genuinely lovely, kind, charming and helpful to me and I think if more people were like him in that way, the world would be a lot better. However, he does seem obsessed with looks which isn't a good side at all, it could end up hurting him in the long run tbh, but aside from that, he was great to me, before the whole fame thing. I'm meant to be intelligent academically but I'm not good socially, and I think both matter, and many different types of intelligence are just as valuable, and that being academically good isn't necessarily more valuable than being good in social situations.

swooosh · 19/11/2013 19:43

He doesn't put it on. My friend is good friends with his sister from school and Joey has always been that way. It's certainly not an act.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 19/11/2013 20:22

He is not an embarrassment. What a vile thing to say. Granted, he is not conventionally intelligent but he has many enviable qualities. He seems a kind, decent lad and that counts for a lot in my book.

50shadesofmeh · 19/11/2013 20:47

He's clearly got a low IQ but he has kind eyes and seems like a genuine nice person. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he had SEN but he was very honest about not being able to tell the time etc it melted my heart a bit.

ShinyBauble · 19/11/2013 22:23

He does ham it up a LOT. I watched him in Towie and some of it was ridiculous, like the time he acted confused that a twig was not helping him dig an outside toilet pit.

He was a nightclub promoter before Towie so he must have some skills to have made a name for himself organizing club nights. He's funny though and has come out with some original humour - the stuff about buying super tight trainers that bunch your feet up so they don't crease across the toe, taking Thomas the Tank Engine yoghurts on a romantic picnic, after taking his date on a tour of the Essex rubbish dump - so funny! And he's the first man I ever saw in skinny jeans and Ugg boots. I think it was the glamping episode where he started to overdo it. He's still the best of that bunch though. And I do feel for him and his cousin Chloe, they've obviously been through some traumatic stuff.

sapfu · 19/11/2013 22:32

There are thousands of inspirational inventors, authors and scientists why dont we look up to these people instead of a nice but dim guy from Essex?

Actually I think we should all look up to nice people. Being nice is very important.

And it's possible to look up to the inventors etc as well as the nice people.

imofftolisdoonvarna · 19/11/2013 22:33

It's not the low iq, possible sen/dyslexia but the faux ignorance that I think is a bit fake about him. I can remember watching an episode of towie and he was having a conversation with Chloe about something. I think he didn't know the difference between guy Fawkes night and Christmas, or who Jesus was, or something like that and I was just like 'oh come on!' I do think some of it is an act.

I do rather love him though, especially on I'm a celeb. He is well reem!

Golddigger · 19/11/2013 22:37

I have only watched the first episode, and never seen TOWIE. He is coming across as a very nice person.
Anyone think he might win?

Golddigger · 19/11/2013 22:41

op also said that he is an embarassment to society?
What do you mean by that op?

Madeyemoodysmum · 19/11/2013 22:46

I adore him and think he is the nicest guy on towie, I just want to mother him, he is very kind hearted.

I want him to win. So op have a Biscuit

mrsjay · 20/11/2013 08:46

apparently his ex girl friend is going in to the jungle I honestly have no idea who his ex girlfriend is I assume she was on TOWIE

PoppyInTheFog · 20/11/2013 08:52

It may be Sam, her friend Ferne is on the after show, and Sam said she was going to Dubai for the first week he was in the show. This means has the second week free and will be nice and tanned Wink.

mrsjay · 20/11/2013 08:55

This means has the second week free and will be nice and tanned wink.
