To wonder if I'm allowed to shop in Waitrose?

One is opening nearby. I'm probably slightly lower middle class, I have ordered on-line from John Lewis, though, and I've never shopped in my pyjamas without a jumper and jeans on top.

If you're upper lower middle class like me you are allowed to shop in Waitrose if it's nearby or just for a few special things. I'm afraid you can't main shop there. Sorry. Sainsburys or lower for the likes of us.

I have cancer, a runaway partner and a daughter with mental health issues. My life is awful. I go to Waitrose, have a free coffee and a paper - pick up a few bargains (yes, I am a VERY good shopper and can spot 'em a mile away), have the staff chat to me and then I go home, having food in the fridge - to sleep for some of the afternoon.

Waitrose makes me happy and I have very little else that does so yes, I would encourage you to shop there.

Sorry, you can't. They have one of those things sort of like those trolley lock up devices you get at some supermarkets, except it's to prevent poorer people getting in rather than trollies getting out

What's up with Waitrose, anyway? A couple of Christmases ago you could buy an ostrich egg but no artichokes. Overrated in my opinion.

I like to alternate between Waitrose and Lidl's. I find this regime keeps me grounded.

I've never seen a fake tan in Waitrose. Do they have an orange metre as you go in? Anything within a whiff of an Andre or Dickinson would be excluded.

I think I'm lower upper middle class and I mainly use Ocado with top ups from Waitrose, Sainsburys and the local co-op (where I happen to be in town). Is that OK?

Supermarket promiscuity is good if you use the loyalty cards. If you neglect one for long enough they sometimes send you more incentives to shop there.

Waitrose will take anyone's money, same as anywhere else. On the other hand if you have a problem with them don't go there.

The women on the unwelcome desk in my town are awful, but the yummy food and lovely cake and wine ladies and fish man keep me going back.

Just steer clear of the overpriced Heston shite. The mince pies that taste of loo cleaner were an unforgettable "treat".
