Such as The Phoenix and the Carpet etc.

We'd all watch them together with toast round the fire.

Wonder why they don't do them now.

Robin Of Sherwood.

Saturday teatime on ITV but still............

In the 80s and prior , ITV actually had some decent shows.

Oh yes! That was great! And 'Carrie's War', 'The Witch's Daughter', 'Thursday's Child'. 'A Little Princess' (though it left out some of the characters). And 'Five Children and It' more recently.

They were great except for the Singing, Ringing Tree one which was terrifying

Great thread! Yes Seven Little Australians with the end changed, the book still has me snivelling. I have its sequel, "The Family at Misrule" .

Little Lord Fauntleroy, The Railway Children, The Treasure Seekers, Five Children and It, The Secret Garden, Carrie's War, Tom Brown's Schooldays, Little Women, Billy Bunter starring fat-shamed Gerald Campion, Heidi, The Owl Service, Anne of Green Gables, Ballet Shoes, Children of the New Forest, Children of Green Knowe

A golden era.

Zombie thread?!

But the Box of Delights is truly epic...
