I find it impossible to use these days.

There is a fight on every thread. And I don't just mean in a yanbu/yabu sort of way. I mean that people are happy to round on others because they have different reasons for being here.

I have even seen a row between two different support threads this week.

If you want to make friends you are told off for being royalty or cliquey.

If you want to indulge in a little mild gossiping you are shouted down for being judgemental or shallow.

If you want to have a lighthearted chat you have to make that clear in the thread title nowadays.

I find the general mood of the place to be aggressive, angry, confrontational, defensive, impossible, predictable.

I keep hoping that things will improve, but how ?

No I'm not bloody GetOrf . Apart from call herself GetOrf, I'm not sure what else she could do to be more noticeable though.

Oh, I've been a terrible bully this week!

Although, a) the poster accusing me wouldn't use my name, just kept referring to 'a certain person' (it was me, there was no else she had issues with) and b) HQ didn't seem to agree and I didn't have any posts deleted, while the person supposedly being bullied by me had four posts deleted, one of them for calling someone a cunt!!!

The problem comes because different people use it for different purposes and I have said that I think the layout should set it out that there are different purposes. People have also started using popular threads like AIBU to get answers but they don't turn out helpful
I am not using it for support, I don't want to make friends - I come on for debate and because it can be highly amusing.
I think that they should have different sections so that it is quite clear if they should need to be sensitive and supportive. I would make people search rather than go onto 'active' and blunder in on subjects they wouldn't normally bother with.
AIBU ought to go IMO, it brings out the worst in people!
I hesitate to start a thread, you can never predict what people will do with it.

At the very least support should be separate from debate.
