In all seriousness. For real. She actually wrote that on her status.

Surely, not unreasonable to defriend?

That's my friend's Facebook status. She's a trainee teacher and a thoroughly lovely and charming person. I'm really glad she won't be teaching my children.

Writerwannabe83 · 16/11/2013 13:23

I can't bear it when people don't use full stops. Why don't they? Is it stupidity or laziness?? It has to be the latter seeing as you don't have to be clever to understand how full stops work Smile

Lazysuzanne · 16/11/2013 13:23

Perhaps she was drunk when she posted, it has that sort of feel to it?

Roughly how old is she? (and does she speak without pausing for breath :o)

Lazysuzanne · 16/11/2013 13:26

Or maybe that's just the slang in her subculture?

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 16/11/2013 13:45

There are some terribly snobby posts on this thread. I guess some of you are the type of people who would prefer to correct someone's spelling of a heartfelt but poorly written plea for help, rather than actually offer real help. I have a large variety of friends on Facebook. Some spell better than others but I'm not shallow enough to judge their worthiness on their academic intelligence.

SharpLily · 16/11/2013 16:55

19, not drunk, no particular subculture. This is standard stuff from her, I'm afraid Smile. She's just one of those who thinks written accuracy is an unimportant and outdated concept.

Sorry but the attention seeking idiots who do that on Facebook do get defriended, even if the dodgy spellers don't. Dear Zeezus, that shit is awful.

fanjofarrow · 16/11/2013 17:01

Grown adults who spell ridiculous as 'rediculous' ought to be put into Room 101, permanently - unless they have learning difficulties, or English is not their first language.

MrsBramleyApple · 16/11/2013 17:20

Has anyone mentioned Jo Frost's use of "asseptable"????? Wink

LiberalPedant · 16/11/2013 17:28

It is so very tempting to go back through this thread to point out the mistakes made by those ridiculing the linguistically challenged, but, out of charity, I will forbear. Wink

It's an immutable law of nature that the more pedantically you're discussing standards of spelling, grammar and punctuation, the more likely you are to make mistakes yourself.
