...to not change the bedding?

MIL has been staying in our spare room for a couple of nights. She left this morning and I have a friend coming to stay tomorrow night. WIBU not to put clean bedding on for friend? Or maybe just fresh pillowcases? MIL is pretty clean.

Just for background, I have a 12 week old DD and our washing machine is on the blink (think it's just the plug fuse, but not had chance to look at it yet).

So, AIBU? Or is that just a bit icky of me?

Aniseeda, yuck. I presume that was said tongue in cheek? I can just imagine your linen cupboard full of dirty sheets with people's names on a post let stuck to them, along with the date they last slept in them.

God I'm pleased I have my friends, not you lot. My best friend stayed recently and I said that we had a very busy week as my mum was staying 2 nights and then my BF. My BF said 'don't you dare change the sheets for me after 2 nights of your mum!' without me even asking.

Do you all take sheets when you go on public transport? Who knows whose head's been leaning against that headrest?!

No, I just meant, on this occasion, while the washing machine is broken, and if her mil is coming back in the near future (which she might be as there is a a new grandchild to visit)

You cannot expect somebody else to sleep in sheets someone else has slept in unless it's your dh shifting in to a child's bed because a child is ill and it's musical beds. But, in the circumstances with a new baby in the house it is totally reasonable to phone your friend and ask her/him to bring their sleeping bag and just change the pillow cases.

My MIL has just been for five nights - I shall leave the sheets on the bed for the time being because she will be back for another five at Christmas. If in the meantime we have guests then I will change the guest bed before they arrive.
