I'm with you, it is very, very annoying when people do this on my street. I don't mind a walk from my car to house or vice versa but when I have to park on the next street because your car needs to be in the middle of two spaces I will rage about it.i

Nancy66 · 08/11/2013 11:59

I agree. If more people on my road did this I wouldn't have to park about six miles from my house every fucking night.

Argh this is a pet hate of mine too Mardy YANBU

Taz1212 · 08/11/2013 12:06

Oh that's my pet peeve! We have one family in our cul de sac who own 50 zillion cars and whenever they park one in the bay for two cars they park right in the middle of the blasted bay! And because they have invariably parked in all of the other bays as well I can't get parked!

CocacolaMum · 08/11/2013 12:07

Mardybra, you are welcome x

It is really inconsiderate and tbh a bit pointless? Join one of those "parking like a twat" facebook groups and upload a pic, what do you mean they aren't permitted? do you literally mean you need a residents permit? if so cant you report the git?

ExitPursuedByABear · 08/11/2013 12:07

Oooh Mardy has started a parking thread.....

SirChenjin · 08/11/2013 12:08

YANBU. This is one of my many pet hates. People who take up 2 parking spaces should not be allowed to drive at all.

AllDirections · 08/11/2013 12:13

I might be guilty of doing this :(

The space seems really small when I'm in the car and it's only when I get out that I realise that there's actually space for two cars. I sometimes move it along but we don't have parking bays and it's not too busy a street. I always move it if asked or give neighbours my car key so they can move it. And always with a cheerful disposition Grin

but sometimes it's because other people have moved/parked and you end up looking like a dick even though originally you were parked perfectly ok

Argh I hate this. Some fucker did this outside my house, in a street where parking is a bloody nightmare, reducing a 3 car space to a 2 car and half a moped space. He then fucked off for 3 weeks. I was hopping and seriously tempted to key his car every time I walked past.

FrequentFlyerRandomDent · 08/11/2013 12:21

Oh, and don't park a school minibus here because your mate told you it as a quiet street. Keep it at school. Thank you.

CocacolaMum · 08/11/2013 12:24

so they park up and take their child to school and then leave? or presumably pull up, sit in the car and then leave?

Playing devils advocate a little here but if they are there for a few minutes why is it a big deal?

SelectAUserName · 08/11/2013 12:25

The only way I retain any zen when this happens is to tell myself that if the person had parked more considerately and only taken up one space in the first place, chances are someone else would have come along and taken the other free space before I got to it anyway.

limitedperiodonly · 08/11/2013 12:25

I used to drive an old Fiat 500 - they're tiny and perfect for squeezing in gaps.

It was battered as well which must have horrified the people who do this deliberately to avoid having someone else park next to their precious car.

trixymalixy · 08/11/2013 12:30

This gives me the rage. Where I park to get the train there is a bit that is long enough for 4 cars, but there are two selfish fuckers that if they get there before me park in such a way that only two cars can fit in. So annoying.

MrsOakenshield · 08/11/2013 12:39

are they marked bays? YANBU if so, but if not, YABU. You don't know what car was in what position when they parked.

BsshBossh · 08/11/2013 12:43

How do you know they've parked that way because someone else had parked oddly or there was a motorbike there when they parked? That's what I assume (to keep my zen).

CocacolaMum · 08/11/2013 12:44

Could park behind them and block them in? bet they would soon stop it if they have to wait for you to move so they could leave
