... please don't park right in the middle. Leave a space for me.

Thanks awfully. Mardy xx

Molding if I were you I'd have those locking posts installed. That would really drive me up the wall.

I asked one old lady to move up as she was getting out of her car, as she'd taken up the last two spaces in a road in a small town I was visiting by parking right in the middle with loads of room in front and behind.

She had a look on her face when I asked, but she inched forward, and then waited to see if I was inside the lines with my back wheels when I parked, which I was. She tutted and walked off. Ho hum!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 08/11/2013 13:11

Naah, they're just twats. It's right outside my front window, we have barely any front garden so I can see exactly who is where. I saw him park but didn't worry because cars come and go during the day. Then he pissed off on his holidays or summat.

meganorks · 08/11/2013 13:31

My road is like that. Annoys the hell out of me. Also if there aren't many cars but one near where I want to park then I park up to it so when it does get busy there is more space. But sure no one else does.

MurderOfGoths · 08/11/2013 13:41

There was one bloke who insisted on doing that in our cul de sac, it was some posh jaguar so reckon he did it to avoid getting it scratched. Bloody annoying when there aren't enough spaces in the first place!

2goatytocare · 08/11/2013 13:46

Sometimes the worse you park makes your car more likely to get scratched

MurderOfGoths · 08/11/2013 13:47

I suspect that's why he no longer parks here 2goaty

2goatytocare · 08/11/2013 14:05

Result Grin

SirChenjin · 08/11/2013 14:34

Is a high five in order there Murder?! Wink

CrohnicallyTired · 08/11/2013 14:55

Austenozzy-
I once asked someone who was sitting in their car if they could move up- they were approx 1/2 a car length behind some double yellow lines, and behind them was 1 car length before the next car. So we didn't have room to manoeuvre into the space, but would if they moved forward to the double yellows.

They refused because they had a parking ticket earlier in the week so didn't see why they should help anyone else park!

SirChenjin · 08/11/2013 14:59

Shock Crohnically. What on earth did you say to that??!

Methe · 08/11/2013 15:06

Im currently sitting my car in the rain thinking about this same thing.

There's a mum at school who arrives every day at 1445 and parks in the middle 2spaces directly opposite the entrance. At 1500 her friend arrives and she moves over.. EVER SINGLE DAY.

I thibk the pair of them need a hobby.

MurderOfGoths · 08/11/2013 15:15

Haha, oh god, don't get me wrong, it wasn't me!! I'm a good girl, however even our car has been keyed and we park as considerately as possible, some people around here are just arseholes.

Jackanory1978 · 08/11/2013 16:00

There's a space for 4 cars outside our house & my neighbours have decided it's theirs. They deliberately arrange their 2 cars so no one else can park there.

If another car was there you can guarantee that within 2 minutes of it leaving they will be out rearranging their cars, even just moving them 2 meters sometimes; just so no one else can park there.

Luckily we have a driveway & they don't, which is a constant source of irritation to them.

makemineabacardi · 08/11/2013 16:17

I have neighbours who do this! Drives me utterly insane. One culprit is a lady over the road who has 3 cars - she parks 2 of them with a big gap between them (but not quite big enough to fit another car) then with her third car she'll park it so there's a big gap again. Means 3 cars taking up 6 spaces on a public road.

Lazy, selfish and gives me the rage as it's a really busy road for cars. But she's not the only one who does it. I can't figure out why people do it.

BeCoolFucker · 08/11/2013 16:19

Oh my this drives me CRAZY too! There isn't much parking round my way so snuggle up please! That includes you too motorbikes!

2goatytocare · 08/11/2013 17:20

Get there at 14.40 and piss her off methe

Methe · 08/11/2013 17:26

Fuck that, I've got a life! I did park there once when I was that early and got glared at Grin

Gossipmonster · 08/11/2013 17:29

My neighbour does this then moves her car when her husband gets home/mum comes round so they can park outside my house.

SELFISH BITCH!! Angry

SirChenjin · 08/11/2013 17:40

Forget your life Methe - you have to do it and report back. It is your MN duty. Don't be so selfish Grin

tallulah · 08/11/2013 17:56

We've had two different cars do that to us this week. Twice we've come home when the neighbours are out to find some kind soul has parked right in the middle of the space so their door is level with our gate, so next door don't have enough room to get in, and I can only get my little car in by parking really close. (we've got a disabled space one side and a drive the other so the space is limited)

I can only assume such drivers are so bad at driving that they need a car's length either side to be able to get out.
