Can't stand him either.

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 13/10/2013 12:57

I dont like him either. He is so boring. His voice is monotone.

He isn't even attractive either.

sonlypuppyfat · 13/10/2013 12:58

Thank you Crumpet you are a woman of considerable taste.

I think he is awful...

Tommy · 13/10/2013 12:59

I share your pain....... I've always thought him dull

I think it's probably easy enough to get through life without ever being exposed to Gary Barlow if you put your mind to it.

I think he seems pleasant enough, he's written nice enough songs in his day - bit bland maybe but nothing to warrant your OP.

underthemountain · 13/10/2013 12:59

I liked him (well some of the take that songs) until he became an X factor judge. I don't like his personality on that and even if faked he was obviously happy to portray that.

poppymagnum · 13/10/2013 13:00

I used to like him until he started x factor. Now I can't stand him. Haven't watched it since.

Overblown sense of self importance.

filee777 · 13/10/2013 13:01

I have to agree, I go through whole years without thinking of Gary Barlow but I suppose if you like the X factor (which I don't) you have to put up with the smarmy barstard which makes it harder.

Ilovewaleswhenitrains · 13/10/2013 13:07

I'm not a fan of his either. Good to know I'm in good company.

FIFIBEBE · 13/10/2013 13:11

He intrigues me. He has mentioned his addictive personality in some interviews. I think it must be difficult trying to be somebody publicly which is clearly an act. He is quite dull though I agree.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 13/10/2013 13:16

As an original take that fan, I love him.

catgirl1976 · 13/10/2013 13:17

I never liked him before, but during this series of X Factor I have become very attracted to him Blush

sonlypuppyfat · 13/10/2013 13:19

I never liked Take That either. I really like music you see

Grin

I managed it for years.

Having children exposes you to stuff you would otherwise never have heard of though.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 13/10/2013 13:26

I've never been keen on him, but I know someone who works with him, and apparently he's a great bloke. I'm still a bit Hmm about that...

SoleSource · 13/10/2013 13:26

Dull dork.

TheCrumpetQueen · 13/10/2013 13:29

I think he comes across as really mean and grumpy on xfactor, but not in the way Simon did, just a mean way

BasilBabyEater · 13/10/2013 13:33

I think it's part of this fiction of XFactor etc. being "pantomime".

We're all supposed to pretend that the people on there aren't real and don't have real feelings, they're panto figures.

While at the same time having our heart-strings pulled over the sad stories.

A bit odd. I suspect GB's persona on that is this panto thing.

It's all perfectly awful and I tend to avoid it all nowadays.

PrimalLass · 13/10/2013 13:41

I like him in TT, but not so much on his own. Would love another TT concert.

maras2 · 13/10/2013 13:50

Is it a generation thing? My DD age 36 loves Garry Barlow and can't understand my inability to love and adore him too.Apparently I have no taste < and am an old gimmer > :)

Just as a matter of interest, why start a thread to say how much you hate someone you've never actually met, who you can avoid and not even think about on a daily basis if you just try?

It would be wholly different if you were criticising his work or something he's said in public or his political opinions or something, but no, it's just him for being him.

It smacks of playground bullying the way everyone is happy to just pile in and say they hate him too. Stop it! It's rude, it'd uncalled for and its a pointless way to spend your time. Do something meaningful instead.
