why is mumsnet so unfriendly and shit compared to netmums

Ive changed my name as im peeved off. I asked for a genuine bit of advice about dd2 school, and i got abuse. Everyone is so unfriendly and jump down ur throat. Its very clicky in here and they all stick togethet. At least on netmums u get a fair hearing and gd advice, its crap here.

People come on here for an ego trip and im sick of it. Have a bit if respect and decency for peoples feelings!!! Grrrrr wish it was properly monitored

I find mumsnet a very friendly and supportive place. I think it can depend where you post of course. I think frequently people post in AIBU wanted to be told "no of course not, you're so right" and then they aren't and get defensive instead of trying to see the differing points of views offered (which is surely what you are supposed to be after if you are in doubt that you might be being reasonable!)

There are so many other boards though where there is amazing and supportive advice. I've only been on net mums a couple if times but much preferred it over here where you can say what you think and there is a great deal of humour

I disagree OP. I find net mums can be quite nasty at times too despite being moderated.

Miss katamari - i have always though AIBU as a statement is being ironic anyway! I never know on here - If i say "am i being unreasonable to expect that DD tidies her room" for instance, what i mean is "i KNOW IANBU so why the fuck doesn't she do it" sort of exasperation. If that makes sense. If i am genuinely unsure if i am unreasonable i tend to post in chat for a more measured response because im a wuss
