Dame Edna can be funny, most overrated though

as an Aussie I am amazed that brits ever got Dame Edna. she is a parody of a particular type of provinical Australian woman circa 1960's.

but I agree her time has passed.

er....Dame Edna is an acting part, not a real person nor a celeb. 'she' is supposed to be annoying.

not watching though, the shrieking harpies of Loose Women as glimpsed once or twice make me want to do something violent.

I think it's type of humour that has had it's time.

My grandparents always enjoyed.

I find him/her funny.

YABU, that accolade belongs to Ricky Gervaise.

Oh, and Russell Brand.

YANBU. Loose Women has become unwatchable with or without Dame Edna Everage.

YABU - Dame Edna is comedy gold - although she's at her best when being filthy, which she probably couldn't get away with on a lunchtime show.

Lotta Couldn't agree more - Brucie and Miranda are both totally overrated and completely unfunny.

Miranda makes me shudder.
Barry Humphries is a very kind and nice man. Won't hear a bad word about him.
Still like Dame Edna, clever humour when not on daytime television.

am quite surprised that there are people who like dame Edna, but then I guess that's why he's still on the telly! He massively gives me the creeps.

I have always been very fond of Barry Humphries and Dame Edna. It is very knowing, and sort of sexually cheeky, subversive in a joyful way. Although its set in Australia, its not a million miles a way from Mrs Bucket in the UK dare I say?

I loved that other Australian comedy, with the two female comediennes playing mother and daughter in a suburb. Whats the name? It was on for one series maybe, then vanished forever.

YABU. Humphries is terrific. So quick-witted and acidic in Dame Edna mode. The Unfunny Cringeworthy Award has to go to John McCririck

Dame Edna is much, much less creepy than anything (everything) done by Leigh Francis.

I remember the classic - BabyCheeses/BabyJesus Kath & Kim easily confused!

I can take or leave her but I did like her One Way or Another duet with the Debster a few years back.

The Christmas film Kath&Kim was brilliant Light
