YANBU
I hate both
Date-night just pips the post though

TigOldBitties · 04/10/2013 22:07

Suggest an alternative?

Thisisaeuphemism · 04/10/2013 22:08

The only way the word date should be used is as in:

What is the date?

Mind you, date night the movie was v funny.

Thisisaeuphemism · 04/10/2013 22:09

Alternatives include:

Sex night?

Come over to play?

Ooh er not to be confused

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 22:09

Date night makes me think of role play where you meet your DH in a bar dressed as a prostitute and pretend not to know each other. Hmm

An alternative would be 'going out for the evening with DH'.

pigletmania · 04/10/2013 22:09

Yanbu it makes my teeth itch grrrrr

Faverolles · 04/10/2013 22:09

Was going to suggest that we share a FB friend, but it's Date Nite (lol) on my FB wall Hmm

YANBU.

Bluestocking · 04/10/2013 22:10

Date nite wiv hubz! Squeeeee!

giraffesCantGoGuising · 04/10/2013 22:11

Oh I hate it too. I thought "dates" were for pre relationship you know when you are "dating" and getting to know each other.

Bearbehind · 04/10/2013 22:11

Totally agree- both sound so contrived- they're yuk!

notnowbernard · 04/10/2013 22:11

Alternative: Going Out

Thisisaeuphemism · 04/10/2013 22:11

Hmm, if that's what you do on date night, sparkling, then I think it's not so bad after all.

I thought date night was eat dinner 'at table' then have sex.

Thisisaeuphemism · 04/10/2013 22:13

I'm on a date night right now! This is the bit between the dinner at table and sex.

notnowbernard · 04/10/2013 22:14

Didn't do 'Dates' with DP pre-dc let alone now

ChaosTrulyReigns · 04/10/2013 22:15

Are we foreplay? Thisisaeuph?

It is a bit cheesy but sometimes it's nice to ear mark time that you and your beloved are setting aside for each other and making an effort for each other. Opposed to sitting in your pants on mumsnet all night.

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 22:16

Are you dressed as a prostitute euphemism?

daisychain01 · 04/10/2013 22:16

Date night urgh - its so goddam smug-marrieds Facebook Smile

"Feeling blessed with my wuuuuuuuuuunderful Man on our Date night"

(Oh the irony of Facebooking when you're meant to be enjoying a night out!)

notnowbernard · 04/10/2013 22:16

Date night sounds so wanky though

notnowbernard · 04/10/2013 22:16

Also wanky:

Play date
Me Time

giraffesCantGoGuising · 04/10/2013 22:17

my friend had "date day/night wif ma man" today Hmm

Is that not just spending the day with your boyfriend?

Thisisaeuphemism · 04/10/2013 22:18

I believe you could put it like that, chaos.

Dhs foreplay is tinker tailor soldier spy.

What a date night we are having!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 04/10/2013 22:18

Oh manalaive, just thought of a new one:

A cretain newspaper yup DM, don't hate me, I readit at the salon, justify justiufy calls giving birth "welcoming her child".

FUXACHE.

That's exactly what labour is.
