I went into a bookies earlier and had a bet. I went to place my bet with the cashier and she was chatting away on her mobile on a private call. The woman in question didn't even acknowledge me then took the betting slip and money then processed the bet.
The horse subsequently won and I went to collect my winnings and when I went to the counter some guy wanted to get a bet on quick so I said to him .' You get your bet on first'
The cashier still chatting away on her mobile looks at me and starts having a go at me and telling me to stop telling her how to do her job and hassling her to put this other guys bet on.I mean talk about getting the wrong end of the stick. I coudn't believe it so i made a complaint against her.AIBU ?

Stop gambling it's pointless, and then you won't have ever see her again.

silkboots · 17/09/2013 23:58

If what you say is true, why would you think you've been unreasonable?

ilovesooty · 17/09/2013 23:59

The cashier was rude. You complained. I don't see why you need the validation of a bunch of internet posters to reinforce a decision you've already carried through.

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:00

I Just hate rude people with bad manners

Because I went back in there about an hour later to talk to her after she had come off the mobile to tell her whats whats and how I felt about her .I spoke my truths quietly and clearly. She was trying to say there's two sides to this story. She also said that she would be reporting me for having a go at her,I kind of regret going back in there but i was fed up with her attitude.I wasn't rude to her just very honest.

I didn't actually go back in there to 'Have a go at her' .I just wanted her to understand that I was not telling her how to do her job and I wanted her to understand why I was upset.

ilovesooty · 18/09/2013 00:13

Who was she going to report you to anyway?

Have you made a complaint to her employer?

Going away and returning after an hour seems a bit peculiar to me.

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:16

I went back because I could not talk to her when I was in there because she was on her mobile and I wasn't going to hang about in there waiting for her to finish her long winded call. She was going to tell the people that were going to investigate the complaint.

OP posts:
silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:16

Yes I have made the complaint.

All sounds very odd and unnecessary to me. Bizarre.

ilovesooty · 18/09/2013 00:22

Ok. You made the complaint. I don't see why you need validation or why you bothered to go back after an hour to take it up with her.

As Lj says - bizarre.

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:23

Is it Lj .So Lj if you went into a shop and the cashier was chatting away on her mobile and she didn't acknowledge you.Is that ok in your book?

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:24
