I went into a bookies earlier and had a bet. I went to place my bet with the cashier and she was chatting away on her mobile on a private call. The woman in question didn't even acknowledge me then took the betting slip and money then processed the bet.
The horse subsequently won and I went to collect my winnings and when I went to the counter some guy wanted to get a bet on quick so I said to him .' You get your bet on first'
The cashier still chatting away on her mobile looks at me and starts having a go at me and telling me to stop telling her how to do her job and hassling her to put this other guys bet on.I mean talk about getting the wrong end of the stick. I coudn't believe it so i made a complaint against her.AIBU ?

No, and I would probably say something politely to either her or a manager.

I wouldn't feel the need to go back and talk to her an hour later and then post it on a forum asking AIBU?

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:26

Anyhow I rarely go in there so I don't really give a monkeys ,I just can't stand rude peole .

And I certainly wouldn't be that upset about it.

Perhaps you need to work on your sensitivity issues.

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:27

Saying that before i put the post up I thought I would have got alot more support than what i've been given from this forum. It appears I am being a bit unreasonable in some peoples eyes. Sad

There's nothing wrong with being a bit sensitive, but I think getting so upset about a cashier who was a bit rude can certainly be described as over sensitive and you may struggle in life being that over sensitive.

Being a warm kind hearted person is a bit irrelevant really.

silkboots · 18/09/2013 00:32

Point taken Lj thanks for the advice I think you might be right Smile

Why are people giving.the op such a hard time? I don't get it. YANBU, op.

claraschu · 18/09/2013 04:26

She was rude and horrible. I get upset by things like this too, so I understand why you let it bother you.

If you are sensitive, it's hard to ignore people who attack you, whether in rl or on the internet.

BadLad · 18/09/2013 08:09

You were unreasonable to go back in and bring it up again. I am amazed that anyone would think that was a good idea.

If you feel she was rude, which, from your account, seems fair enough, then tell the manager and take your custom elsewhere in future if you are not satisfied with how he dealt with it. And be sure to tell him you are voting with your plates and why.

Then just put it down to her being a miserable, rude woman and take comfort in the fact that you won't be the last customer she pisses off, so eventually her manager will deal with her.

Welcome to Mumsnet Silkboots. You need to address that sensitivity if you want to hang around here especially as you post in a way which makes you look like a troll.

You didn't seem so sensitive yesterday when you referred to an overweight woman as a "porker".

Good luck on here today, I'm sure people will be nicer to you

Yanbu, she was very rude. Did the manager apologise when you complained?
