I don't get it.

Everyone has different tastes. Some would love my house, some would loathe it.

I would be quite upset to know that a large group of women in an internet forum were openly slagging off my house and getting vast enjoyment from it.

Aibu and have no sense of humour?

The Gaudi house has a sunken bath in the middle of a bedroom. That would be a right pain to clean.

Screwfox · 14/09/2013 17:49

lol OP

have you lost anything?

DjangoTheDisSilent · 14/09/2013 18:02

A sunken bath in the bedroom? Shock you'd do yourself an injury after a few drinks!

Screwfox · 14/09/2013 18:08

these people have rampant bears in their windows!! and you cant have a laugh?

I tend to think that while I'd be horrified to find my house discussed on here, it might be better to at least hear the true, rather than people coming round, the estate agent saying "it's just not to their taste" and not realising just how bad your house is. Let's face it, the owners of sexbear house clearly have the money to do something far better and it looks recently decorated, so they must really think that looks good - it's not going to occur to them naturally that perhaps they are knocking value off their house/not getting a sale because they've decorated it like that. Basically, they've spent a lot of money on it, yet they are effectively selling it as a rennovation project as every single room needs gutting.

Plus it's great to see how other people have decorated their house, I do play property porn regularly, looking what I could buy if I won the lottery, what I could buy if we just had an extra £100k, most are lovely and only need small tweeks (I've found our 'lottery win' house, it will need new flooring throughout downstairs, but that's not bad enough for anyone to find it funny - most would agree "great house, just needs new flooring downstairs and a change of curtains")

DjangoTheDisSilent · 14/09/2013 18:17

Well no I actually got it wrong there. I thought it was called sex bear because of the angle it was at - but it's not.

There's a bear in one room, and the word sex in another room. Therefore = sex bear.

So no rampant bears in windows.

rampant as in standing up.

like a rampant lion

Thrustbadger · 14/09/2013 18:22

I'd keep falling in the bath in the Gaudi house.

DjangoTheDisSilent · 14/09/2013 18:37

rampant as in standing up.

No if a bear stands up it's most likely getting ready to maul you.

its a thing in heraldry

never mind

sassytheFIRST · 14/09/2013 18:47

Django - my heartfelt thanks.

I hadn't seen the sexbearhouse before your thread. My life is enhanced as a result.

Mia4 · 14/09/2013 18:56

I wouldn't be that bothered, mines been on there before and I'm pretty sure one picture had my sexy lacy thongs hanging in full view on the radiator. I imagine much piss was taken if people noticed.

I think that house is really cool, I'd love to be able to afford something like that. The decor is shockingly shite but rip it all out and redecorate to everyone's own style...I'd love it.

FlorenceMattell · 14/09/2013 19:04

Agree with OP. is wrong to comment online about others houses. All houses are on Right Move. The people who comment on these threads are the 'playground bullies' of mumsnet. Not nice.

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2013 19:26

Florence that is a bit OTT. People on MN comment on everything. How is it bullying? MN isn't making house seller's lives a misery. Confused

GemmaTeller · 14/09/2013 19:35

Oh well, we got to page 5 before someone brought out the bullying card.

So what you're saying is either, we should never comment on any houses for sale or indeed not even look on Rightmove etc unless we are serious about purchasing a house or if we do we should only comment on the ones we like?

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2013 19:36

I now imagine a DM story headline 'I was bullied online for my awful curtains' complete with sad face and gaudy drapes. Sad

GemmaTeller · 14/09/2013 19:37

....practices newspaper face for when I sell my house ....Sad

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2013 19:39

Don't forget to cross your arms Gemma. Wink

LynetteScavo · 14/09/2013 19:46

If my house got 2000 hits on Rightmove I'd be laughing.

I wouldn't care who was laughing at my life sized stuffed toy.

YABU and have no sense of humour.

FatPenguin · 14/09/2013 19:48

MrsDeVere if your house is ever on rightmove please post it on here, your kitchen sounds immense Envy

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2013 19:48

Yes but Lynette 2000 hits and no viewings? You would be Confused Grin
