AIBU to hate anything Bugaboo

Because I'm trying to rationalise it. I know they're supposed to be quality products and everything, but it's just the sight of the the brand/logo.... I can't stand them.
I've tried to think this through. Is it jealousy? No, as I could buy one if I wanted. I really can't think of the real reasons
Why do I have a weird hatred of a pushchair brand FFS?!

Don't worry about it

Buggies/Prams and all that jazz only feature in a tiny part of yours and your kid's lives.

Once the last child is walking, you'll never think about these products again.

Artandco · 14/09/2013 13:28

In not sure. Personally I like them due to practicality not price

Bugaboo cameleon - lasts forever, large carrycot, suitable for overnight sleeping, car seat compatible, forward and rear facing, can add snow wheels, great with buggy board, handle adjusts, large basket

Bugaboo bee - suitable from birth, folds in one piece, rear and forward facing, good basket, handle adjusts, small space on buses, lightweight for tubes/ escalators/ flying/ car

Bugaboo donkey - one of only few doubles that have rear facing seats, either carrycot or seats, suitable for overnight sleeping, takes x2 car seats, good with buggy board, converts to single if needed.

Wickedgirl · 14/09/2013 15:10

I'm with you......try and take a bugaboo across a snowy path or a muddy field. They are rubbish unless you only have to walk across nice, smooth surfaces.

RubberBullets · 14/09/2013 15:33

I don't like them but that is because they are ugly as sin.

SHarri13 · 14/09/2013 15:41

YANBU if you have tried one but YABU if you haven't. They're the bollocks. Whenever anyone's pushed ours who doesn't have one themselves they comment on how lovely they are. I've tried lots of brands and they are consistantly good and cheap second had which both of mine have been. But I live in a city with smooth pavements but found the cameleon good on a beach with the big wheels in front.

I'm also U as I can't bear icandy's but I won't go into why...

PrimalLass · 14/09/2013 15:45

I loved mine, sorry! They are great in the snow, you just flip the handle over and use the big wheels at the front. Mine was cheap second hand, I used it for 3 years, then sold it was 75% of what I paid.

PrimalLass · 14/09/2013 15:46

*for 75%

Souredstones · 14/09/2013 15:48

YANBU they look cheap and nasty IMO

melliebobs · 14/09/2013 15:57

I don't like them either. I'm sure they handle fantastic and fold up to the size of a cereal box or whatever but they just don't look nice. It's that spindly frame n the fact that every person seems to have that sand colour that puts me off!

ScottishInSwitzerland · 14/09/2013 15:59

ah well each to their own. I have a bugaboo and love it.

I have a chameleon and I do notice that loads of other people seem to have the same, but it really doesn't bother me as it's function suits us.

CrazyOldCatLady · 14/09/2013 16:01

I loved my Cameleon. I used it in snow, in muddy fields and on the beach; there was nowhere it wouldn't go. It was a brilliant buggy and I'm just sorry that my kids are too big to need it now.

I bought mine second hand (four years old) and sold it for the same price I bought it for.

I didn't give a damn what it looked like. It did the job.

FTR I hate the Quinny Buzz with a passion. Because I had one and it was awful (three chassis in 3 months because the first two squeaked like a dog's toy). I am entitled to hate them after blowing £300 (Of MIL's money Grin) on one. I should have ignore OH and bought a Bugaboo the first time round.

MrsBungle · 14/09/2013 16:06

Love my cameleon. I've had it 4.5 years now through 2 children. I've never needed another push chair.

Bamboobambino · 14/09/2013 16:31

I have tried one, the donkey. I found it to be the most unwieldy bulky heavy double on the market.
I bought the baby jogger city mini double instead. I can turn it on a point with one hand and collapse it in seconds.
I'm not qualified to comment on the bugaboo single buggies as I have twins, but for some reason my teeth grate whenever I see that round logo, and I'm still not entirely sure why.

I loved my chameleon! Sturdy, only needed that one pram in 3 years and I'm selling it for a decent amount on eBay.

Bamboobambino · 14/09/2013 16:34

Yes, very glad.

cottoncandy · 14/09/2013 16:35

I have a chameleon and a bee. Cham was new, gift from mil, bee second hand. I like them, understand why others might not choose them but not hate them...

Retropear · 14/09/2013 16:37

Nipper 360 fan here.

Bugaboo screeches Chav, footballers wives etc to me.Faded glory fashion item over substance.

Yanbu

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 14/09/2013 16:58

I have a Bugaboo Bee and I love it.

I find it a bit sad that anyone would waste their energy hating a pram purely because of the make.

dirtyface · 14/09/2013 17:24

YABU

i love my bugaboo

they are not cheap, but mine has lasted 7 years through 2 dcs and i will be dusting it down again in a few months when i have dc3

and they look lovely and smart, which, IMO most prams don't

ShoeJunkie · 14/09/2013 17:27

I love my cam, got it second hand but its still going strong.
Disagree with those who say its rubbish off-road, mine has been on the beach, through the wood and coped with last years snow.
YABU.

softlysoftly · 14/09/2013 17:40

Loved my bugaboo used all way throb with dd1 Ab vs up to 10 months with dd2. Also have the city mini and if we have dc3 will drag out the bugaboo again.

Last year in the snow it was brilliant, also good for dragging to horse/fishing etc so bollocks wickedgirl.

Took the citymini fishing this time and it was crap.

I suppose it's like 4x4s fine covered in mud doing to job they are designed for totally WAG wagons when spotless, blinged up and cruising through london with blacked out Windows.
