... In favour of gin.

I am a total convert. Mixed with tonic or bitter lemon it is perfect for any post five o clock scenario or meal. Also, it works out cheaper, doesnt get you as tired and you wake up feeling refreshed.

This would be good apart from my 18 year old dd has just discovered she likes gin and I fear it wouldn't last long.

She's not that fussed on wine so that is safe. Grin

ShadowSummer · 08/09/2013 23:49

YABU.

Gin tastes vile. You can keep it.

DIYapprentice · 08/09/2013 23:49

BitBewildered · 08/09/2013 23:51

Gin makes me emotionally wobbly. Vodka, red wine or cognac for me, ta.

moondog · 08/09/2013 23:51

Hin is indeed an excellent drink. I've drunk nowt but wine for years but am going right off it. It makes me feel ill, and wakes me in the middle of the night with a bad taste I. My mouth.

VaultFullOfTwizzlers · 09/09/2013 00:04

I drank gin and orange as a teen and have never had it again.

I FLASHED an unsuspecting mate and made my Dad stop on the roadside for me to be sick.

timidviper · 09/09/2013 00:08

Wine makes me ill, gin is the food (or drink) of the Gods. Gorgeous stuff!

SinisterSal · 09/09/2013 00:10

Gin makes me miserable, wine makes me fat and happy. Beer makes me fart

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/09/2013 00:12

Love gin! Had a g&t on holiday in Spain every night this year about 6pm as I was finishing at the pool. So refreshing
and felt like a real treat.

MairzyDoats · 09/09/2013 00:14

Gin is good. Hendricks gin is divine.

WetAugust · 09/09/2013 00:15

Yuk

Drinking gin is like drinking aftershave (I imagine)

NoComet · 09/09/2013 00:16

Gin can modify the mood your in if taken to excess.

As a teen it made me giggly and silly, but I have more serious friends who said it made them miserable.

Nowadays I don't have more than one or two and that doesn't do anything except taste nice.

HungryGeorge · 09/09/2013 00:20

Gin makes me cry
Wine makes me fighty
beer makes me fat and farty

Vodka............. fixes everything

StephenFrySaidSo · 09/09/2013 00:23

usualsuspect · 09/09/2013 00:26

Vodka ftw.

Onesleeptillwembley · 09/09/2013 00:31

Urgh. Even the smell of him makes me nauseous. However, I will take your unused wine off your hands.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 09/09/2013 00:36

I like both Grin

I try to stick to one one night, and one the other though Wink

AnnieLobeseder · 09/09/2013 00:37

Sadly I'm allergic to the quinine in tonic and bitter lemon (extra sad cos they're both v tasty). I may try gin with something else though, most people seem to rate it.

What else does it go with?

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 09/09/2013 00:40

Orange? But personally I hate orange as a mixer blurgh.

Lemonade might work?
